Sadly for me, I have to eat gluten & egg free. Because of this, I make pancakes using rice flour (at times, I will add some GF corn meal). I will add a t spoon of vanilla, 1/3 cup of honey, ginger powder, cinnamon. Give it a good mix and let it rise for a few minutes.

Put a nice helping of it onto a well buttered pan and within minutes you have a delicious and filling breakfast. :)

ginger genuinely adds flavor :)

Would you take advice from an old man?

Some day when you have children, if you have a son do him a big favor and teach him how to cook. Aside from watching sports and occasionally reading a book, cooking is my hobby. And it is the world's greatest hobby! Food does a body good. :)

Yes.. but once years ago, we had a friend make a rice cake wc is often done sweet here. She's from Cebu, an island in the Visayas (central philippines) and she did put some ginger making the rice cake. I was so surprised with the twist, but found it nice... Much, much later (now i mean) i am more comfortable putting a little grated ginger on to fried rice as well, and some other mild spices like turmeric powder. And i have also learned that the yellow in fried rice we often had when ordering outside, was more of the spices rather than butter... now i make less simple rice w/ those spices that add just a bit of color and flavor,
incl. paprika, wc i didnt even know how to use a few yrs ago-).

Now thanks for that pancake suggest, peace. Now i am thinking of another rice cake, the bibingka, wc is baked rather than cooked on a pan. I would post on that sometime.

Tried this recently with flour, banana, and yoghurt. The pancakes were great and really fluffy due to the yoghurt compared to just plain old milk...

Ach! I forgot above to note that I often add sour cream to the mix as it makes the pancakes very fluffy. In fact, I just had some breakfast muffin with my morning coffee. Sour cream was one of my ingredients and it was yummy. :)
