This is interesting. Ive always loved apples and other fresh fruits and thought why ppl have to cook-- and fry-- unless to preserve as in jams-). Ppl from here also love fried things-- fish, burgers, hotdogs, eggs, etc. I mean pouched eggs are quite common there, but here it is rare to find ppl who do that--- for it has always been fried eggs, scrambled eggs in oil, omelette in oil, etc. When we were small, ma would cook hotdogs in a little oil-- and water-- and it was cooked just nice. (But the children know no other way to cook them except frying in oil-(... even if there was an oven. Sorry, got carried away, but thanks for the recipe i will try (but perhaps with a Tblspoon or 2 less of sugar-).

    Good day mar09,

Every time I go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast I have their fried apples. Tastes great!

I'm originally from the deep fried capital of the world, Alabama! My mom makes homemade fried apple pies that are out of this world. I remember when I was a kid, helping my grandmother cut up apples and put them out on the pump house to dry out. The good old days no doubt.

    Forgiveness Prayer:

Lord Jesus, Divine Forgiver; make me an instrument of forgiveness
This is the first day of the rest of my life.
I forgive those who have hurt me deeply,
I am leaving behind those things of the past and all my past failures and sins.
I'm pressing on today, with a new beginning in You.
Have your way, clear my conscience and mend my broken heart.
Put joy where sorrow once rested.- In Jesus Name AMEN

Hey mar09, by fried apples, it's not like you cut them up, coat them in flour and dump them in the frying pan with oil (otherwise known as deep-frying), it's just like the filling for apple pie, you just add butter, lemon juice and sugar, there's no oil or flour or deep frying involved. You can make the fried apples any way you wish by altering the measurements of the ingredients.

Yes, yes it didnt seem so from the recipe-). I was just saying how filipinos (and i dont know really that much who else) love fried things. A while ago i quickly skimmed this article that said we are one of the unhealthiest ppl on earth, and for a reason. While some esp athletes for example, strive to be fit and all, it seems a large chunk of ppl here do not know, or ignore healthy habits we only read about or watch-(. Even i loved fruit jams and wondered when young why we didnt make them as much as other nations did, and realized bec. we didnt have winters, so ppl often go for fresh things, not worrying there will be mos.u cannot harvest or buy fresh from a rotation of fruits any season. Sure guava or pineapple juice is canned and often sold, imported too, but think abt preserved guava (theres rare guave jelly), or jackfruit or bignay... it is only recently the latter is being made into red wine.
Back to the fried apple... i dont look at this as fried tho-- just cooked in butter-).

    Funny! I get that.
I'm one of those that can eat food fried in bacon grease and don't gain an ounce.
Heart and arteries are clean also.
