SIMPLE MILK POWDER BURFI RECIPE

Simple Milk Powder Burfi Recipe - A very simple and easy dessert recipe made in a jiffy with the milk powder.

Ingredients

 • 1 cup milk powder
 • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
 • 1/4 cup milk
 • 1/4 cup butter
 • saffron strands, dry fruits or nuts of your choice for garnishing (optional)

Instructions

 • Butter a tray or plate and set aside.
 • Heat butter in a non stick pan on low flame until melt.
 • Add milk and milk powder and mix thoroughly.
 • Now mix in the powdered sugar and keep stirring continuously.
 • Cook till it becomes a lump in the middle and butter starts leaving the sides of the mixture.
 • Transfer this mixture to the buttered tray or plate and flatten in with the back of a spoon.
 • Allow it to cool and set. Now cut into desired shape and garnish with the soaked saffron and nuts of your choice. Serve at room temperature.

hubby and I would never use cow's milk

Wow! Just about everything adult humans shouldn't be eating. (I guess the last line of the recipe isn't too bad.)

why do u say so? we do not live in ur country. only a fraction get enof milk, and not the fresh milk type too. for a long time we've produced sugar fr cane, and not know what else the Lord provided tht for, unless we go back (enjoying) biting n chewing on the fresh sliced n chopped sugar cane we sometimes had access to as children...? butter is also dairy double the price of marg, so again only the richer fill their carts wd real butter as they push alg the aisles of supermkts...i think i'd rather have an occasional like ths than lechon or roast pig here or processed bars n cereals wd hi fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners-).

Cane sugar.... not so bad. Dairy, of any type... a serious "No No ." Ever notice that even cows do not drink milk? Just growing calves. And about the only butter we should touch is "raw" butter. Margarine is a killer, period.

But I'll bet it does taste good. Most of the things that are bad for humans taste great. A real bummer. (That's why I splurge on ice cream now and then. About every two months, or so.)

once i read a young man post that they had a dairy farm, n theyve bn drinking raw milk for as long as he cud rmember. no tummy troubles, unlike he thot some/mny who take pasteurizd milk n get lactose intolerance?? idk, the issues may be too intricate for my simple understanding, but yes, how do we change/educate millions of ppl who grew up having only mantekilya, for at least these stayd solid in warm temps. no, im not disagreeing there, only wishing ppl find the alternatives... how abt ygurt ice cream? u may have it once a month?!
