1 stick butter

3 cups Bisquick

1 tablespn white sugar

pinch of salt

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspn vanilla

2 cans peaches (save that syrup)

1-2 teaspn cinnamon

1-2 tablespn brown sugar

*Chinese 5 spice (optional)

I use the Dutch oven so it never flows over,

Throw the butter in dutch oven and heat to 375

mix the bisquick, sugar, salt, milk and vanilla

it should be like a thick pancake batter but not runny

grabthe oven mitts and get that pan out and pour it in on top of melted butter

put the peaches with the syrup on top of batter

sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar on peaches

very light not even a dusting of 5 spice

Be VERY careful with the 5 spice it's strong (it's like a secret ingrediant - noone should know it's there)

45-50 min check it, the top should be lightly browned and covering the peaches

Crispy aromatic peachy yumminess, the only thing that makes it better is ice cream :)

Robin loves to eat and mine just came outta the oven Tom is rejoicing!!!

I love the recipe but I'm not crazy about peaches could I substitute with another fruit?

Yummy!! Sounds lovely! I'd have to omit the 5 spice as I don't like fennel, anise or clove. But I was wondering if a wee bit of turmeric, ginger & cinnamon might be substituted. And if so, how much 5 spice do you use?
