I been searching for foods we can take when we cant help the yawns during the day. Instead of putting in Misc. i thought to post here so if some have recipes u have we can make in advance... thanks.

Btw, i did check some sites that said 7, 8 or 10 foods to take when youre sleepy, but i chose one that gave 20:

if you make a smoothie with avocado, raisins, mango, banana and bluebarries (perhaps a lil coffee) I swear you stay up and going. I had that with me when I had to stay up long for singing at a festival and I was the only one who was on their feet.. It does wonders..looks aweful but it so does the trick..

Thank you, demi. When you posted, i only had raisins... the bananas were gone this morning. Anyway, i took an apple and some nuts from the list, but was still sleepy. We never had the fresh blueberries altho i saw some frozen at the supermarket. What i had to do was walk out in the sun, but if i got to a place i went to a few days ago with grass, i would have lain in the grass too! One good solution when being drowsy is to take a nap after all-).

hubby and I were at the beginning, at least for our generation, of 'give them caffeine',
it will keep them awake, give them extra energy, and they will 'crave it more and more' -
and they will 'SPEND' more and more to get it...and darn if they, the 'big money makers,
weren't right, once again...duh, talk about 'cattle and cud'...

satan desires to STEAL our 'natural-hormonal-life-cycle' in so many ways, and 'sleep-deprivation'
is 'high on his list'...it can make one crazy, among other things...not to mention,
shred one's nerves...

Mostly I try to eat a healthy diet.
Drinking lots helps with tiredness, I often turn to herbal/fruit teas when I'm
tired. When I have breakfast cereal I usually include some sort of fresh fruit
blueberries, grapes, strawberries.
I always buy yoghurts with live natural bacteria as well which seems to help
of your digestive system is a bit sluggish,

If I really feel deflated, run down them I find something like this helps as a
cheats way and good pick me up for a week or so.

I found a while back that the smell of lavender, if it's the right kind can be
really soothing. So while I can mostly sleep straight away, on the odd occasion that
I can't, I use some sort of lavender product. Recently I discovered this,
its fantastic and soothing on the skin generally. It also seems really good for
chapped skin, lips, minor abrasions etc.

hello. i'm glad about this topic. i take naps mostly everyday but i think its the medicine that makes me drowsy so yeah i can't work either just stay at home and help wherever i mostly can. oh i also get tension headaches at first i would call them migraines but now they're just headaches and my energy i gotta save the night before somehow to keep up with the next day. Especially on special ocassions. I don't know if you take meds but it sure sounds i'm not the only one.

Hi meredith,
No i dont take meds for sleeplessness, you mean? I used to take melatonin at night, but strive to exercise or work hard enough to make me tired enough, but when i think i do need something and am visiting a doctor, do ask for something for a short time.
