Hi Tabitha,

What does Catalina dressing taste like?

I've had a taco salad with basically the same ingredients - but the dressing was French. Makes me want to eat it again! Thanks! :)

Also, welcome to CC!

Gonna score me a large bottle of Catalina dressing at my local grocer. Not sure about that other stuff though. I'm thinking going south to the border to Taco Bell. Put some Catalina on them tacos.

Is it a salad is it a dip you decide?... Maybe you have made one... Introducing "The Walking Taco!"... Yummy , yum, yum!

Okay I'm vegetarian but for you meat eaters use your imagination... For those who haven't heard of it here goes.
Take a pyrex glass dish 11 x 17 and layer the bottom with one can or two of refried beans. On the top of that put a layer of sour cream as thick as you want until you can't see the beans. Add a layer of Guacamole again as thick as you want blended in with sour cream... On top of that sprinkle grated cheese (any kind you desire)... Then add pico de gallo or any fresh salsa you desire... Then add black olives... You can also top this with jalapenos, pepperchinos or green onions.

For you meat eaters you can layer meat in also as you desire or put it on a tortilla and add the walking taco on top of it... Use your imagination... This is great with chips of all kinds... And it can also be used as a salad... The best part of it unless you are a meat eater there is nothing to cook... YEAH!... So have it my Christian Brothers and Sisters and make a Walking Taco... BTW there are also many ideas online and maybe some of you have made one and can share your recipes... Bon Appetite... Brother Glen

I looked on line and I never knew this was so popular as I have been making this for years... Look online and they even have one in a bag for those on the go!... Never tried a Walking Taco in a bag but I'm sure the kids would love it... What I like about is it is easy to make and yummy to eat... After you try one return and give me a report... Tell me also how they like the one in the bag... Brother Glen

Never tried Catalina sauce on this before but can well imagine that it adds much flavor. Italian salad dressing usually does it for me. Add a touch of sour cream, ginger spice, with medium hot sauce and it will be ideal.
