This is a pretty standard hummus recipe...
(I really enjoy cooking "from scratch", but feel free to substitute canned things for fresh, but fresh really does taste better!) 1 1/2 cups of dried chickpeas 2-4 cloves of garlic, crushed (more or less depending on taste) 4-8 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 2-3 tablespoons Tahini (Sesame seed paste) 2-3 tablespoons olive oil Dash of cumin -Overnight, soak about 1 1/2 cups of chickpeas with a pinch of salt. Next morning rinse and drain. -Cook the beans in some slightly salted water until they are soft. (1 hour, more or less) (You may reserve some of the water if the hummus is too dry in the blender) -Drain the beans and add to blender. Add crushed garlic, lemon juice, tahini , cumin and olive oil. Blend until it is the consistency you desire. Some like it smooth, some like it chunky. Play around with it until you get what you like! I like to take that recipe and tweak it a bit for my own personal tastes. I love vinegar. The more sour the better, so I add in 2 tablespoons of white or rice vinegar. I also sometimes omit the tahini. Some would consider this to be hummus abuse! Enjoy! |

1. I put most of my seasonings (salt, pepper, cayenne, ground caraway seed, dill, cumin, lemon zest, feta cheese, olive oil, and probably some o therstuff that I don't remember right now) on top!! So, you have a huge layer of pure taste that hits your tongue, and then it mixes together in your mouth!
![]() Feta makes it more salty, so be careful how much you add 2. Try zesting a lemon, and adding it (the zest). |

And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 2 Corinthians 2:15-17 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as so many,[a] peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.. Col 3 15 Andlet the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. |

Yeah, I wanted to make hummus one day and didn't have tahini, but had all of the other ingredients and remembered I had read somewhere on the internet that peanut butter could be used as a substitute. After trying it for myself I decided otherwise lol.
