Hey, everyone! :)

I'd like everyone's opinion on coconut milk. :) How's it taste? Is it worth getting?

I'm trying my best to go dairy-free (I have an allergy to milk...not just lactose, but milk itself. So I gotta stay away!) and I'd like to find some milk-alternatives for cooking :) almond milk is out of the question since some of my family members (not including me) have nut-allergy issues...and plus, I didn't like the taste of it. Maybe it's because I got the unsweetened? Hmmm, you think you guys could give me your opinions on this, too? lol

Anyways, if you have ever tried coconut milk or any other kind of milk please me what you think!! It will be SO helpful and SO much easier. :)

God Bless and have a good day!

well, it doesn't taste like milk, it is coconut juice + meat. I don't think I'd drink it as a beverage.

It is great for cooking, use it as a substitute for cream :) (Chicken, coconut milk, salt, pepper, paprika and chili..... yum)

Rice milk is pretty good. It doesn't retain a lot of its original taste, as almond, coconut, soy, and others might, and is easily digestible, rarely allergenic.

Thank you both!! :) I'll look into both!

Oh! I also forgot no soy XD haha! I like to avoid soy, too, since too much of it for me isn't good. oh well though! :) I've heard soy milk isn't that good anyways :p

In our age when food is adjusted so and manufactured so it isn’t alive any more, even though we have to have alive food to feed the flora in our intestines (sounds AWFUL). Most food, even milk, is pasteurized and dead so germs won’t kill us. So I tell my taste buds to go fly, I've always been busy just eating and drinking so I can live without all the digestive problems of my friends.

Well, there is always man made sour milk (not as in ordinary milk gone sour, but as in milk where those good germs have been allowed to grow)

I think it's pretty good. I also grew up drinking and eat weird stuff :/ lol. It takes a little getting used to, kinda like goat's milk.

have a funny story for you...my daughter is a newly wed health nut and married to a taco bell nut. he tries very hard to support her way of eating. he knows she loves coconut milk and dark chocolate. So everyday he brings her Mounds bars! very sweet of him, he is doing it out of love, but he is not connecting the Not So healthy aspect of it. he thinks "dark chocolate is better than milk choc for you..and she likes coconut milk...so....." She says "What do I do mom? I don't want to hurt his feelings?" LOL Ahh..the joys of being married 2 months!
