How wonderful to find this information on a Christian site. Biblegateway on the net says that there are 25 verses in the NT in the NIV with the word clean in it. Being clean is one of the spiritual meanings behind this directive that was given. I find that following the dietary laws reminds me of bible verses about being clean, it is such a satisfying way to eat.
Back before the Israelites changed to our way of eating, before WW1, they were healthier than gentiles who didn’t follow this diet plan. I have been reading about what has been found out about the effects that scavenger animal meat has on our bodies. I think I would want to eat this way even if I didn’t know God. For instance, pigs digest food in four hours, what they eat is what you get. Cattle takes 24 hours to digest and process their food.
