Ingredients:
1/2 regular size bag of coconut
1 regular size bag of chopped walnuts: coat 9X13 pan with either nonstick spray or butter, layer walnuts on bottom of pan then cover with coconut.

1 box of dark chocolate cake mix: mix according to box: pour over coconut.

cream middle:

1 pkg. of cream cheese
1 stick of butter: over low heat melt together (will still be clumpy) just till thoroughly melted.

1lb pkg. of powdered sugar: slowly stir into butter and cream cheese mix then pour over center of cake mix.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour (usually an hour). Can't use a toothpick to test this cake the center is suppose to be like a thick moistness in the middle. Almost like pudding but a little thicker.

Enjoy! It is delicious!

I'm a bit confused. I'm liking that I'm hearing something new to me here that sounds gooey and awesome, so I want to understand what's going on...

The cream cheese mixture goes in the oven with the raw cake? And I'm not sure what you mean by pour over the middle...

Do you lay half the batter, pour the cream cheese mixture over it and then pour the other half of the batter? Or do you just mean pour the cream cheese mixture into the centre of the cake batter so that it can disperse while it's cooking?

Please clarify, I'd love to add this recipe to my repertoire! :)

I think it would be safe to pour cream cheese mixture in middle of batter, during baking process the batter will rise over it,

Sorry, if I made it sound confusing. After you put the nuts, coconut, then all of the cake mix in the pan then you just pour the cream cheese mixture over the top of the cake mix keeping it mostly in the center of the cake, and yes it does sink into the center of the cake and makes the center really googy and yummy! Some people like it with cool whip on top. It's really rich already. I prefer it plain, but every once in awhile I'll get in the mood for a scope of vanilla ice cream over it when it just it comes out of the oven (or you can heat it up when it's cool). It's really neat how the cake mix bakes over the mixture. It bakes all together and seals the cream cheese mixtures in the center and you just see a few lines in the cake where the mixture sunk down in, but you don't see the cream cheese. It's really neat! Hope you like it. Sorry, it took so long to answer your question. I just found out today by Crismson-lark that I had a question on here about it.

Just have to say, I made this for friends- it was amazing! They loved it.

I used a spring form pan and then flipped it onto a dish. Sprinkled the top(which now consisted of walnuts and coconut)
with sugar and served with fresh strawberries.

I'm a stickler for exact measurements so I wasn't sure what meant a regular bag of walnuts and what was a regular bag of coconut, but general guesses will work. I'm really glad I made this- thank you Surprisingrose!
