Prep time - 10 minutes Total Time - 40 - 50 Minutes (apx )


Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
4 (4 ounce) boneless pork loin chops, pounded thin
1 large onions, sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup , green pepper (minced)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 (15 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
1 (cup or small can ) sliced Mushrooms - if can, drain water before using (optional)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1- 2 tablespoons red wine (optional)
salt, to taste
ground black pepper, to taste

Directions



  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over high heat, and quickly brown the pork chops on both sides.
  2. Transfer chops to platter, and keep warm.
  3. Reduce skillet heat to medium. Add 1 tbsp oil and heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the onion and minced garlic , (mushrooms, green pepper ) and cook until tender.
  5. Mix in the sugar, chili powder, (red wine ), oregano and basil.
Stir in the tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce, and bring to a boil.


  1. Return the pork chops to the skillet.
Cover; reduce heat to low, and cook 10 minutes.


  1. Remove cover, and continue cooking another 15 minutes, or to desired doneness

Note --- editing vs time ran out sooooo

stir in tomatoes is step 6
return pork to skillet is step 7
remove cover is step 8

enjoy is step 9

sorry about the mix up ... lol......

PS instead of sugar u can use a substitute ...like splenda or omit it completely.

gonna try this. Doing a "smart-carb" thing and this seems perfect (the 1 tsp sugar isn't that much), since I always do the same boring things with pork chops.
