My wife and I make taco, burrito supreme, or super nachos with this meat recipe. It's made with real meat and tastes identical to taco bells meat and it's a lot healthier.
1 lb ground chuck ( lean hamburger)
1 1/2 tbs flour (white)
4 1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp sugar (white)
1 tsp minced onion
1. Mix together all ingredients except the meat
2 Stir the spice mixture well making sure all spices are well blended (by hand)
3. Cook and Crumble ground beef and brown it, stirring well
4. Remove from heat, drain grease from beef in a strainer
5. Return beef to the pan and add spice mix
6. Add 1 cup of water to ground beef and seasoning and simmer on low to medium heat for 20 minutes (leave lid off of pan). Simmer until most of the moisture has cooked away. Remove from heat when moisture in meat has dissipated but meat is not dry.
