Rice and red beans

Ingredients

dry red beans
parboiled white rice
salt
adobo all purpose seasoning
minced garlic
chopped onion
chicken flavored boullion cube - Maggi
bay leaves
water



1. bring the beans to a boil and let simmer for 3 hours
2. strain the beans and reserve liquid in a bowl
3. in a pot, heat a tablespoon of oil and add garlic, onion, and your boullion cube, and fry for a few minutes
4. add beans and cook for 5 minutes or so, making sure you dont burn the garlic

5. add the drained water - 2 parts water to 1 part rice (if you need more liquid add more regular water)

6. add a dash of salt and a dash of adobo seasoning
7. add rice and bring to a boil

8. stir, add bay leaves, and then cover your pot
9. reduce to low heat and keep everything covered for about 30 minutes
10. uncover, stir (very briefly) and serve

Rice n Beans... call it RnB..... Never goes wrong with an avocado, the African way...lol

Rice and beans are very common here... (mostly made separatedly),
I also like white beans, with salad too, it's delicious...
it is funny, how each part of the World has a different taste for recipes. Praise the Lord!
