pumpkin bread

I've made this recipe twice so far -- tis very good!

based on "Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread" (from allrecipes.com)
(I just cut the sugar in half and added more spices)

I used 2 - 5x9 inch loaf pans

[TD]1 cup vegetable oil

[TD]1 1/2 teaspoons salt[/TD]

[TD]2/3 cup water[/TD]
[TD]1 teaspoon ground allspice[/TD]
[/TR]

[TD]1 1/2 cups white sugar[/TD]
[TD]1 teaspoon ground cinnamon[/TD]
[/TR]

[TD]1 teaspoon ground nutmeg[/TD]

[TD]1 teaspoon ground cloves[/TD]

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease two 5x9 inch loaf pans.
2. In a big bowl (optionally with a spout), mix the ingredients from the "wet" column. In another bowl, mix the ingredients from the "dry" column. Stir the dry stuff in with the wet mixture until just blended. Pour into greased pans - trying to divide the batter evenly.
3. Bake for about 45-50 minutes in the preheated oven. Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
