BANANAS FOSTER

3 Tbsp. butter
3 bananas, quartered or sliced
1 1/2 oz. creme de banana
3 oz. white rum, heated
Cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream

Combine dark brown sugar with butter. Stir over medium heat until butter is melted. Add bananas and creme de banana. Cook until bananas soften and are well glazed. Add the white rum and flame, if desired. Sprinkle with cinnamon and quickly spoon over very hard frozen ice cream.

We like most bananas uncooked, but the recipe looks nice. There's a local cooking variety called saba. Interesting, the Saba or 'Cardava has the highest content of nutrients because it has the deepest roots among other banana plants' i just read. These are sometimes boiled plain, cooked like spring rolls called turon, or in syrup and oil as in banana-q.

This is kind of an adult dessert, it does contain liquor but if made right, can be very good. The first time I ate it I was in my teens, I was hooked..lol
