I've had occasion to discuss my faith in God, and His son Jesus Christ with a Hindu man. He's polite and knowledgeable. I feel that I'm not reaching him at the level he needs to hear. I pray that God would reveal his need to him, and wait patiently for either the seed to grow, or God would touch his heart. Any thoughts on further witnessing to him?

Hi Moose.

God bless you brother and nice to hear you witnessing to someone.

I've been witnessing to a few of my Hindu friends and I've always come up against a wall too. Here are some of the challenges that come across while witnessing to Hindus.

(Remember that at the end of the day it is God who has to speak to that person and they, who have to respond)

1. Hindus are usually brought up with strict tradition and very religious foundations. It is family and tradition above everything else.

Hindus having such tight bonds are usually unwilling or afraid to consider a different religion for the fear of ostracizing families.
There's also the usual safety of stepping out of something known and comfortable into something else entirely.

Imagine growing up with something that you are safe with and familiar, that you have always believed to be right and to let go of that - that is very hard!

2. Hindus view everything as sacred. It's easier to accept Jesus as "one of " many Gods than to accept a one true God. To move from polytheism to monotheism is another hurdle.

3. Prejudices - They view Christianity as a religion that attacks theirs because it calls out on idolatry and hence they may be inclined to be hostile towards it.

I do know many people who converted to Christianity from Hinduism and most of them came out of sheer desperation.

They were suffering from ill health or extreme problems, and in the end, their desperation led them to pray to God –who answered them.

Beware; if your friend is very knowledgeable, then it may spiral into a debate, which usually is unfruitful.

You have to be sure -very sure that your God is TRUE. Remember Elijah with the prophets of Baal?

Keep praying. Praying at all times and never ceasing.

Put on the armour of God.

God bless you.

Hi!! Moose Praise the Lord brother. I have gone through this beautiful experience of sharing gospel to the Hindus, I had shared the gospel with a Hindu guy who works as a watchman for a college.I had a talk with him and he gradually opened up and shared his pain, disappointments to me, so I thought that I can use his pain as a gain of soul for the kingdom of God and I started sharing about a person called Jesus and after that I promised him to send a Hindi bible. Brother keep it simple for him and pray for him so that the seed that you have sowed will one day grow and give shelter and be fruitful for the father who is in heaven ,Thank you.

Live holy,be patient and gentle just living your faith out, praying for God to be kind to him ,so he can repent. For it is the kindness of the Lord that leads people to repentence. Don't push.
Lead.
