Hello fellow Indian brothers and sisters,

I don't see much activity in this forum. Maybe this thread will get more "desi's" involved

  • So what brought you to Christian Chat?
  • How did you find out about it? W
  • hat did you have in mind when you signed up for it?

As for me, I was recommended CC from a good friend of mine. I had moved to a different state, away from home and family. I needed some fellowship so he asked me to join CC. To be completely honest, I was kind of looking for "more than a friend" relationship when I first go on CC but as I started talking to people, my thinking changed  I have met some great people on here, that have encouraged me and edified me. I am so very thankful to our Lord for getting my head straight. HE HE.

NOW IT's YOUR TURN!

hi miss blessed one :)
Well I stumbled across Cc actually diligently looking and seeking answers or anyone who was having experiences like I was having .. I started seeing things I had no clue what they were or what they meant .. I was questioning my sanity actually ..
so I came here as a hope to connect with others who might know.. I was being shown things and hearing a voice I was not familiar with..I knew God existed but I wasn't sure if it was Him or I was just becoming mentally unstable .. well I'm happy to report a cc member helped me with their knowledge of scripture .. Pointing and leading me to in fact places in the bible Wich clarified what I was seeing and hearing . It has deepened my relationship in christ keeping the bit in my mouth very close to him ..so pretty much I would say God lead me here .. For answers and fellowship with like minded believers ..

Hi!
I have several Indian Hindu friends, and they seem absolutely fine with promoting believing in 'God', which sounds to me like they are promoting Christianity, but really they just accept the Christian doctrines as true as a facet of Brahma, right? Not as an ultimate truth?
Are you guys Hindu Christian Indians or Christian Christian Indians?

I came here to find answers to some of my Biblical questions. Although I have been studying the Bible for years, I do not claim to know everything. There are some things in the Bible that baffle me even today. I have found many learned and experienced people over here. At the same time I have found many with weird doctrines. Overall, I have found great people.

I learned about this site through Google. In fact, I was part of other Bible chat sites, but I found this one to be the best. So I visit this site on and off.

When I signed up, I was looking for some good believing friends and some fellowship.

OnlineBuddy. God bless you. there is plenty of mysteries in the bible. But God sees your heart to want to know these mysteries that baffles you and anyone who reads the bible. I think, the bible has been designed that way for you and any individual to become closer to God. although it does say that everything Jesus has said in the bible, has been said in no secrecy at all. he openly told everything and hid nothing from us. But still some things are baffling and in some sense confusing, but you know what? I know the answer is there in the word to answer you questions and things that baffling you. Just bring them to God, and he will answer them to you. he is an understanding God, and also give understanding and will speak to you in ways you never thought. The more you become closer to God the more you come closer to his understanding. God bless.

Well to answer your last question, yes many many many many generations ago my family was Hindu but God had a different plan for us. He saved us and showed us "the way". I am so very grateful and thankful to Him. So currently my identity is that I am an Indian, living in the US and believing in Jesus Christ. I hope that makes sense :D

Agree with you a 100%, richie_2uk. I believe that God answers every questions in his own way and timing depending on our faith. Sometimes we have to stay tuned and wait, but the answer always comes.

You're right. In India people think of Christianity as one of the prevailing religions.

I am a "Christian Christian Indian" :) But it does not matter whether you were born a Hindu or a Christian. Even if one was born in a Christian family (like me), one can't take it for granted that one is automatically saved at birth, like so many on this site believe. A Christian-born person has to accept, surrender to and be committed to Christ just as a Hindu-born person would do. There is no difference. I believe that Christianity is not a religion, but a way of life.

I think most of the people here are 'Christian' Christians and non Christians who follow Jesus. I am a Christian and I am from Kerala, the southern most part of India.

I am taking the freedom to write a little about the Christian history in India. About India's 3% population are baptized Christians from different denominations which includes Catholics, Protestants, Pentecostals, Orthodox etc. Christianity was introduced to India by St. Thomas the Apostle of Jesus and in AD 52 the first church was build in Kerala which is with the Catholic Church now. So the history of Christianity dates back a long time.

Like you said there are Hindus who accept Jesus as a God just like every other God. I have many friends too who are like that but who has not yet accepted Jesus as their savior.

I started looking for Christian chat sites in 2004 and i became member of most of the christian chat sites. I had so many tough arguments with different people. Google brought me to this site and i am alive in this site from past few months due to this site's liveliness with more Indians.

I found more good people here. Healthy debates were there. (I was not participating in debates now a days.) And i found Chats were not godly and talking useless things. Members need to be little bit matured in that. Its not a dating site basically. New comers in this site were expecting to listen Gods words and some encouragement words in chat. That has to be improved.

When i signed up, i just wanted to help others and wanted to spend some free time in Godly things. Was thinking to participate in some healthy debates, getting advices for practical issues and ideas on ministry in India.

Hey everyone!

I came on this site, because I had reached that point, where none of my friends could understand me.

I've learnt this lesson, that it's better to trust God than to take refuge in people, and praise God that Jesus came for me the way he did!

However, surrounded by unbelieving friends, social troubles and a hectic life in college I badly wanted to talk to people who also loved Christ.

I felt alone.

I prayed about this and I don't remember what I was looking for :D , but anyway I stumbled upon this site.
I didn't think I was going to stay on here for long (Hence the very unimaginative chatname)

But God let me meet some very amazing people here, who have provided beautiful guidance, comfort, love and understanding!
And of course, all the fights, debates etc, just served to expand my knowledge.
I never knew half the stuff Christians fight about and wow!

And more than that, I was glad that I found people whose testimonies and faith in God just served to increase my own.

I love my unbelieving friends, but that fellowship I share with Christians here, who love God and seek Him, as we pray for one another and encourage one another is incredibly uplifting.

It's so wonderful to be with God's people and to meet people who understand your joy at what God has done for you.

Nothing compares to the love of God though.
No human being can take that place of first position or understand you the way God does...

This verse however comes to my mind

1 John 4:12 :
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

So that's what we're called to do. Love one another! And Praise God, his love is made complete in us!!

To conclude, it's so great that we can talk to people from across the globe (also I'd add its great to see the ones from my very own country! Christians are a minority. Maybe around 2%)

So it's been a blessing, and I hope all of you are blessed too!

Much love and peace :)
