I agree with you. Those who advertise themselves as a 'coach' and being 'passionate about fitness' when they've constantly advocating all different kinds of meats, they're constantly talking about carb control and not only having but giving into cravings throughout posts is a total joke. I've heard obese nutritionists claim they're an authority on diet, lifestyle and health. As a vegan, when you eat healthily you don't have those cravings at all to start with because the brain and the body have been fed everything they need. Sugar is like poison for the body and carbs are excellent. When you have a sound understanding of what real food is and what the brain and body needs, you'll have a much more sound knowledge of health and be on the path of genuine fitness and longevity in your life.

Jesus wasn't a vegan. He ate fish and he fed fish to the multitudes, remember? I imagine he consumed other meat as well. I feel sickly if I go without meat so the vegan lifestyle doesn't work well for me.

I agree with you that refined sugar is poison. I use raw honey mostly. But I do give in to ice cream a few times a month, I have to admit.

Honestly, where is this coming from? I've never once advocated all different kinds of meat. I'm not constantly talking about carb control (I actually eat a lot of carbs, lol). And yeah, it is a complete "joke" because I joke about giving into cravings ;) No need to be accusatory or even attacking me. Just take a deep breath. Things will be okay. I promise.

I've lost at least 100 pounds, been exercising and making sure to eat right. I understand we all have different beliefs and values. But don't try to tell me I'm not passionate about fitness and do not know what I am talking about. It sounds like you are a vegan? If so, your values and beliefs will differ from mine and that's completely okay! But don't try to tell me what I do and dont' know about health after studying into it for years :)

I think it's great you are a vegan (if you are). I've thought about doing it a few times!

As those who are aware of animal cruelty, and have actually studied food and its origins for many years, are fully aware of cows go through just to make that 'milk' and 'yoghurt'. The chemicals and hormones in them are extremely destructive for the human body. If a person had any authority on the matter of food and health, recommending dairy products is a significant contradiction to this.

If you're interested in considering a substitute for ice cream, I'd recommend something almond milk based or as another alternative an ethical and 100% healthy choice to what you would normally consume is 'wot no dairy'. It is Dairy, gluten, soy and nut free – based on pea protein. It is sweetened with apple juice with no added cane or beet sugar. That should put you onto a good start. God speed.

If people would like to bicker about the social responsibility of food and it's sourcing, go set that soapbox up someplace else. That's a different topic from what is being discussed here. This thread would move along just fine without all the social justice warrior garbage clogging it up.

Now by all means, please fire back at me with all the venom I've come to expect from a large swath of the membership here. Otherwise...shhh.

There is nothing wrong with having cravings for ice cream or whatever. For instance I grew up in the country where you hunt and raise your own animals for meat and they do manipulate the clips in those cruelty videos to make it look worse than it really is. God created animals for us to eat and for someone to say we shouldn't and it's not biblical is absurd. We have a small dairy that we buy our milk from and let me tell ya it's delicious and it doesn't have all the hormones in it to produce more milk. Yes, those videos of animal cruelty is horrible, but they show those to scare people out of eating meat and when you raise your own you know exactly what you are feeding them and how they are taken care of, but still it isn't right to pass judgment upon those that do eat meat. I had someone in high school who was advocating being vegan and judged other people as they were eating and as a result she wasn't happy and didn't have any friends. My suggestion is to accept people for who they are and not what they eat

I read the health forum and others all the time. In my understanding of your posts, you've consistently advocated all different types of meat: Advocating different types of Meat - Album on Imgur

I worked out this morning...and I did awesome with my meal plan.

Then....cupcakes happened.
I didn't realize that was in humour. However, on this aspect of health, if a person feeds their brain and their body the correct nutrition, they find they don't go through cravings. The brain doesn't need that 'fix' of sugar, just to name one example, because it's already been fed the right sugars and been satisfied in the correct nutrition.

No need to be accusatory or even attacking me.
When someone advocates a lifestyle that you disagree with, or further develops ideas of health that you may not have of fully understood before, it doesn't mean they're accusing or attacking you.

Just take a deep breath. Things will be okay. I promise.
Thanks for the concern, I'm fine. I hope you are too.

When you come onto a public and advertise yourself as a fitness coach or a health instructor with the food, claims and advice you dispense to the public, that's totally open for correction.

You may consider yourself passionate about fitness or a range of different issues, but I will speak up when I think the claims you're making are incorrect, just as others do for me. You claim to have studied health for years, I too have been studying health for many years but I'm not going to advocate different types of meat & dairy because my studies and practices have taught me otherwise - that doesn't make you any more of an authority on the matter than me or vice versa.

Don't even bother ;) She's never been a fan of me, so this is just another post of hers against me. :p Have you ever tried frozen yogurt?
I don't believe I've ever replied to you on the forums at all, much less made a post 'against you'. If I'm wrong, please link all these posts because I'm unaware of them. That aside, you must appreciate that despite how you feel about a subject, just because someone takes a different stance on it, doesn't mean someone's 'against you' as a person. Being truly healthy in mind, body and spirit with Christ doesn't allow a person to play the victim.

I think it's great you are a vegan. I've thought about doing it a few times!
Apart from turning your life over to Christ, it will be the best decision you ever made. Go for it. God speed.

Laura dear, being an advocate against the cruelty of animals is very admirable. And I agree with you in that. However, people are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. [Matthew 10:31]

Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.

We are all encouraged to love one another, pray for each other and encourage one another. Nobody has cornered the market on everything, we all have something to offer. So I'm certainly interested in what our sister shineyourlight has to say about good health.

To make an example of a dear sister in Christ in order to promote your personal beliefs about cruelty to animals is hurtful and inappropriate. Please discontinue that agenda. Thank you. :)

My posts and their ensuing responses have got nothing to do with promoting any personal agenda. If I disagree about an aspect of food and health claims I'm going to speak up. Whether you agree with those aspects is your 100% business but you do not have the right to falsely accuse me nor to tell me to stop posting about my understanding of any subject matter. It is a fantastic discussion and you were given excellent, considerate advice of which you should be grateful.

To falsely accuse a person, as has been done several times now, and then to attempt to shut a member down on their understanding of any subject matter
is what is wrong. If I've got a subject matter or personal claims to address I will reply as I see appropriate. You may well have your emotions tied up in people or you might not like my opinions and that's your right, but you do not have the right to ask someone to 'discontinue' this or accuse them of an agenda in doing so.

If you have any concerns about me or my posts, I encourage you to see a moderator or the owner who can illustrate to me themselves how I'm breaking any rules. Till then, I shall continue enjoying my membership of the site. God speed.

After the flood, God told mankind to eat meat. (Genesis 9:2-3)
Jesus fed the multitudes fish and bread. (Matthew 14:17-21)
Jesus ate fish (Luke 24:42-43) a
nd Passover lamb (Luke 22:8-15)
In Peter's vision, Jesus declared all foods to be clean, including animals (Acts 10:10-15)

Interestingly enough, that is also when the life expectancy started to drop, for those born after the flood. Hmmm? I'm not vegan or anything, just an observation. Personally I think a lot of illnesses stem from the improper digestion of meat and not eating enough fresh vegetables.
