Hello friends!

I have been to India before (Kolkata, Delhi, Jaipur, Agra) and had such a wonderful experience that I want to go back. Does anybody have any advice on any Christian volunteer opportunities for someone from overseas? I've been looking online but I'm a little overwhelmed with the information.

Any advice or personal experience is most welcome!

Hi!

Glad to hear you had a good experience in India and are returning.

I did know a couple of French students who came to India and volunteered in Tamil Nadu. They did go as a group. They took part in building a school.

I am not sure I can provide any particular organization' name but my suggestion would be to look at churches and Christian organizations.

There are many small grassroots sort of churches too though you have to be careful that they may not be prepared to accept international volunteers and even provide accommodation for a woman.

If you were part of a larger group, it would be safer according to me.

Hi!!

Nice to hear that you had a good time in India. I have heard about a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) group where the youth get a lot of opportunities to volunteer in various mission activities through out India. I myself am not a volunteer and everything I heard about them is through the grapevine. Hope this might help you. Here's the link -- > Youth With A Mission
