If you love India or your Indian brothers and sisters, and want to encourage them, please post here.

15th August is India's Independence Day and I see this as a run up to celebrating our birth and growth in the modern world.

So for starters,

Did you know India's space mission to Mars cost less than the Hollywood movie Gravity?

"The Hollywood film, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, had a reported budget of $100 million (£58.5 million), while the real-life mission had a comparatively cheap price tag of 4.5 billion rupees (£43.8 million)."

Thank you India for your wonderful regional cuisines. I'm not a vegetarian but if I ever become one, I'm moving to India! Indian vegetarian dishes are perhaps the best in the world.

Well you know, of course, that India's cuisine is very diversified throughout the country so it would be hard to pick a favorite from so many excellent choices.

Tikkas and kebabs are both great. Something like this is just wonderful:

and goes well with a nice curry vegetable recipe:

Seriously, that's a five star meal right there and so healthy. :)

I have a question. Is there any truth to this? I don't believe things I read on the net, and I figured you'd know for sure, Rachel. (I guess I would still be believing what I read on the net, but you seem trustworthy :p)

OH MAN.

How did you dig this out??? :D

Hahaha. It is VERY TRUE.

Raksha Bandhan is when a girl ties a cute wrist band around a guy she considers her brother - and the brother's duties are to protect her and take care of her.

But yes, that also means it kills all romance, coz you can't date a "brother".

So the brotherzone exists very much.

In fact Raksha bandhan happened around last week and I know many boys who took a day off around the girls they like , to avoid being "brozoned" :p

(and I know many girls who use this technique to avoid romeos. I've tried it too. It works:D)

LOL, avoiding fraternal duties by hiding from girls. I think we need to bring this to America! (I think it's an honor to be considered a brother, but I'm sure it would hurt if there was romance brewing.)

Technically in Christ, all of us are brothers and sisters.

I love the culture and the history throughout India. In the last 12 months, I have travelled to so many places across the length and breadth of the country and it takes my breath away! We are so richly blessed but unfortunately we are not utilising them properly.

praise the Lord that we all are born in such a wonderful and beautiful country INDIA. I believe that INDIA is a blessed country and at present if you look at South INDIA many people started preaching about the true love of God. I Believe that If we are born in INDIA, we are not born just like that. God has a purpose in our life. There are lot of indians who still don't know who JESUS is. We need to spread the word of God and add souls to the Body of Christ. So let us all think on this.....God has a plan for INDIA. Love you Jesus. Thank you Jesus. Love you India. Proud to be an Indian Christian. Proud to be an Indian.

Praise the Lord in everything. I am from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh(now Telangana State). Hyderabad is famous for Biryani. So people come here from different places just to taste Biryani. In Hyderabad we can find people of different cultures and different language. There are lot of awesome churches here to attend and Praise Jesus. I give all praises all honor all worship all glory to only and only JESUS CHRIST. Hyderabad is blessed with countless blessing by our God. Thank you for everything Jesus.
