Correct me if lm wrong...but did the former host of the Celebrity Apprentice just become the President of the United States?

    Cool.
I'll have to watch his new show to see how it all turns out.

About:
Expectations ~ by PopClick

Expectations... such a dreaded word
it means someone is going to try and fit me into a mold
to tell me what I ought to be striving toward
to place on me their ideas of bronze, silver and gold

and sometimes it means the things I hope for myself
what I want, what I seek to attain
how easy it is to put higher things on the shelf
and forget that the material is in vain

it's far easier to fix our eyes on the things we can see
the temporary, instantaneous dross
God, please make me into whatever You want me to be
let me count all these other things as loss

though it seems like it must be an impossible goal
how much closer will I come, if I aim for that mark
than if I dwell on the fact that I have an imperfect soul
and use that to excuse a lack of true spark.

Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.

Respect

by PopClick on January 1st, 2015 at 08:06 PM
No part of this story is intended to be taken literally. It's an overly-dramatized commentary on respect.

She sat on the ground with her knees to her chest, one wrist chained loosely to the wall of the enclosure. Four brick walls, a wooden door, a dirt floor, and a roof open to the stars; the small square box was where she spent her days. She sat there staring off into space. Thinking, praying... or both.

She heard a knock on the door of her brick box. "Sorry,"

Gratitude and perspective

by PopClick on December 26th, 2014 at 02:12 PM
I appreciate my dreams a lot. Sometimes they are totally random, bizarre, and forgettable, and sometimes I learn things from them. I might see things in a different light, or from another person's point of view, or maybe see an attitude of mine that needs adjusting.

I like airplanes, especially from the "golden age" of aviation (the 20s and 30s.) I really love the innovation that took place when powered flight was in its infancy, and all of the ways the engineers and designers

The Store

by PopClick on September 4th, 2014 at 07:26 PM
I just went there for a few things, on what was supposed to be a quick, simple stop. But as I was getting ready to check out and leave, I saw an aisle I had never noticed before. The banner above the aisle, instead of "Canned Goods" or something like that, just said "Everything". Curiosity got the better of me, and I took a detour to see what was there.

Lining the shelves was, quite literally, everything you could think of. I walked past a bunch of people inside

To Have and to Hold

This poem kind of looks like it's about a guy, but it's not. It's a little more metaphorical than that.

To Have and to Hold
By PopClick

After this long
internal fight
I knew that time
would shed its light
from now until
that time had come
I lay there hurt
and so alone

During the day
the sights and sounds
kept it away
or at least down
the nights then

The Walk

by PopClick on July 2nd, 2013 at 02:17 PM
I went for a walk today with my Father. And I skinned my knee. He knew that would happen! He knows everything! I should have asked Him. When He said "Let's go for a walk", I should have asked Him if I was going to get hurt. Then, I could have stayed home.

Where? It was down by that pond, where all the ducks live. We were feeding the ducks, and I went down the bank to get a better look. When I tried to climb back up the bank, I slipped and skinned my knee.

No,
