I don't understand why do they need donations to reach 500 dollars? I mean it's not because of the paying for the site. So why so much? I am in no way trying to insult anyone but just didn't understand

I'm thinking that you don't need to understand. You only need to pray about this need, and be led to give or not.

It takes alot to keep this site up and running. RoboOp, the founder, has several other sites that he and his family own and maintain. Money goes toward the cost of maintaining the site, getting whatever software/hardware is needed, etc. This site and the other sites are entirely user-supported, meaning if no one donates, the site(s) could eventually close.
