gay ?

I know homosexuality is Wrong....but can someone explain why??? My brothers gay and and during a conversation at our brothers house someone had asked how things were with him and his partner and asked if they were ever gonna adopt children....he noticed the face I made and called me out on it...I said don't ask me unless you want the truth....and he said no, I want to hear what you have to say....so I told him in front of everyone else that I disagree with the homosexual life style, I feel that's it immoral and I don't feel that it's a good idea for gay people to be adopting children....I know I hurt his feelings..anyway back to the question...why is it wrong? What's the reasoning....he kept asking me and I couldn't come up with a good enough reason besides God said so....

First, as someone who is Same-Sex Attracted, it is a disordered desire. We are not to seek sex with another of our own sex.
Second, it has no possibility in the creation of life. All actions of love should have the possibility to create life. Be they words of encouragement, words of comfort, or acts of love, including sex. As God is Love and therefore our Creator, then so too must His eternal will be fulfilled here.

God designed man with woman.
It is a rebellion against God's design.

And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Gen 2:21-24)

Now of course if they reject Scripture as God's Word, then anything goes.

I have been celibate for over 3 years now. I know that I am called to a life without marriage and service to God. I pray constantly about this, I trust in the Lord to deal with it and give me the strength to resist temptation.

Numerous scripture can be used to show that homosexuality is sin, and as a Bible believing Christian I don't need anything else to know that its wrong. If your brother is not a Christian and struggling to come out of this bondage he's probably not going to see how its wrong.

Something important to keep in mind though is that God WILL forgive a homosexual just as He will forgive anyone.

And I have a FIRM belief that God CAN help people overcome this sinful lifestyle. Just as He can help anyone the alcoholic, drug addict, porn addict, and so forth overcome their sinful ways.

Honestly yes it is wrong but can we disagree with love. There a people out there having signs say God hates fags. If you look in the Bible, there are more versus about divorce then homosexuality but more then anything does go against the creations of humans. So is it wrong? Yes. but do we have to bash them? No. Disagree in love.

It is not the attraction that is wrong and sinful, it is the ACTING upon that attraction. I know I was "born with" the desire to have sex with just about any attractive woman I see, but I know it is sinful to act on that desire. I just can say "oh well I was born with this desire so that makes it ok to act on" That's the whole point of sin and the need for Jesus to save us and free us of that sin.

There are actually very few people out there these days with those signs. Every time something abhorrent like saying God hates people comes up, the minuscule Westboro Baptist Church is dredged up. The lion's share of the hatred is FROM the homosexuals toward Christians, Not the other way around. Also, I can't find a verse where God destroyed a whole region of people for divorce with fire and brimstone reigning from heaven. Finally, merely saying that homosexual activity is wrong and sinful, no matter how loving, is considered hateful and bashing by homosexuals.

The attraction itself is part of a disordered will and flesh. In and of itself, it is not sinful, but opens you to sin. In essence, it is part of the sin nature of man. However, acting upon that attraction, either through action or fantasy, is sinful.

To be honest, being arrested, imprisoned, hung, starved, burned at the stake, stoned to death, tortured, and crucified for almost two millenia throughout the world tends to leave a strong distrust for Christianity.

God's word says He hates sin period. It goes on to say that all unrighteousness is sin

Hey Jruiz The Bible says that all are fashioned in iniquity from the womb...all are conceived in sin and thus we are all born into a flesh that wants desires contrary to the will of God. Jruiz, God loves your brother and wants him to be with Him in Heaven, not to entertain the lusts of the flesh, which is sin, which must be punished. Everyone needs to repent and accept Jesus Christ and ask for His Holy Spirit whereby we will be able to live through His Spirit and not the lusts of the flesh. Love your brother and let him know how much compassion Jesus has on people born into a same-sex attraction. Oh how much Jesus loves him and wants to set him free All are born into varying lusts of the flesh, but Jesus will help us overcome them. Let your brother know no one will ever love him like Jesus. Life is temporary, but Jesus loves us with an everlasting love. Love your brother, and let him know he needs to ignore the flesh and focus on the love and future Jesus has for him in His eternal kingdom. God bless you and your wonderful brother
