I know its not just a couple people who deal with intrusive thoughts. Hey, I understand that Christians have them more so then people who are not Christians because its a form of spiritual warfare. However a majority of my life since I was so very young (toddler years) I have had intrusive thoughts like no other. They are constant, horrible and frustrating. I posted a prayer request about the struggles that I am facing mentally a while ago and intrusive thoughts are a major part in my mental health. I display OCD intrusive thought like symptoms (along with other paranoid and strange symptoms, thats a different story). This isn't me complaining and I trust that Jesus can and will clear my mind. Its a healing process I understand, and even if they don't go away completely I can still manage because Jesus is there. I am just wondering if anyone else out there has such a struggle with this as well, maybe you don't understand why but intrusive thoughts have been a major part in your life. I'm looking for anyone who hasn't just had a few intrusive thoughts here and there (tho they are welcome to reach out to me to), but more on a daily basis for a long time kind of thing. I am just trying to see if anyone understands what I have dealt with most of my life so far. I am just genuinely curious. You can even private message me instead of leaving a comment if you are more comfortable that way. ~ ♥JMO

I think i may understand what you mean by 'intrusive thoughts' but could you give a bit more of an explanation? Perhaps an example (could be made up even). That might help clarify to others what you mean, and as a result get a better batch of responses.

Uhm Yea, maybe I should have been a little more specific. Intrusive thoughts are unwelcome involuntary thoughts, images or unpleasant ideas that may become obsession, are upsetting and distressing and can be difficult to manage or eliminate. They can range from being blasphemous/insulting towards God to being violent or sexual. Anything that is disturbing or unwanted basically that keeps coming into your mind without having to think about it.

I work in technical support, soooo yes, I experience an intrusive thought once in awhile.

People are typically egotistical, and I think this is what leads to intrusive thoughts more often than not. Try to feel good about seeking guidance and self betterment! Yet do feel bad about having said thoughts, as compunction is a valuable tool to improvement.

Is there anything in particular that is inducing these sorts of thoughts?

All I can suggest is to find one word of scripture that speaks to you at the beginning of the day- and think it often during the day. Visualize it - say it out loud - and replace that intrusive thought with the Word of God.

For instance if I begin to fear I will put a verse about God's assurance of His taking care of things in my mind instead and repeat it to myself often during the day.

For any thought to leave, it must be replaced by another thought. And you can choose what you think.

Yes I have such thoughts, they appear randomly and then when they pop into my head for some reason I get this sharp twisting feeling in my mid area. it hasn't always been like this but over the past months it started with having them a little then progressively they became worse. I assume the gut wrenching thing is my disgust of these things. its just one of those ways the enemy attacks I suppose, he knows what bothers you the most and is not afraid to use it against you even if its just bringing up shameful things from the past

I had many coming out of the occult and drugs but slowly and surely the entrance of His Word cleansed the fort, erected fortresses, resupplied the armor to the point where I could stand against the wiles of satan.

You got to pray to Gods Precious Loving Holy Spirit to remove these away. I deal with this but dont be scared of the thoughts come worse you got to. Use Gods Word and rebuke the thoughts in Jesus Name. I just dealt with a horrible attack you know why we deal with it becausw it humbles us, gets us closer to Jesus ♡♡ and glorifies Jesus. You can help others let awesome Abba Father USE you, HES IN CONTROL♡♡♡ also write down your battles.
The battle. When and how long. What happened. What did you do? Complain or praised Jesus our Lord and use His Word. And what was the lesson.
