Lance, the dog in my avatar, required certain services from me each day, including the ones I already described. In addition I was required to sing to him daily, stay off his favorite easy chair, rub behind his ears for ten minutes every day, wake him at 7 AM each morning, and be absolutely silent after 11:00 every night until he got up the next day. Otherwise he would sulk.
