This is a thread where everyone posts a song that describes their life best so we get to know one another better. If your life could be told through music, which song would it be? I'll have to think about my soundtrack so I'll let you guys post first. :)

The entire Tron Legacy soundtrack is my imagination.

My actual life is more like the same song over and over -_________-;;;

Out of respect to CC rules against secular music, I won't advertise specific artists or songs, but for the sake of the thread: I listen to a lot of secular rock, 60s - 80s pop, and even a degree of metal (nothing raunchy or risque), but I nearly always resonate with and focus on the music more than the lyrics.

With that, my life would be likely told through a lot of original score from various movies and even a few video game soundtracks, as well as a few strictly instrumental tracks from said secular artists.

Me too. The song I posted is not a worship song but the lyrics can be and that's exactly why I like it, "God bless our king, it's a bright light day, let us worship in your triumph" etc.

I agree with SK up there. :)
Music in general, is my life's soundtrack.
Sometimes it's a peaceful ballad, when I am in prayer,
other times it's an upbeat tempo when I'm excited.

Just like a real movie soundtrack---multiple styles and feel-- depending on the particular 'scene' in my life, or moment of the day.

The song that sums up my walk is "Save Us Oh God" by Kevin Prosch.
I do not follow this guys music, but in this one song, he manages to capture , with amazing emotion, what we go through as Christians on a daily basis.
The fact that the song calls out to the Lord to save all of His people, and not just himself, is what is moving.

This song is basically how I see life.

There are secular songs that have biblical wisdom. Just because a truth is spoken by a non christian doesn't make it untrue.

Sure, secular is not inherently synonymous with bad. The forum rules don't bar talk of secular music altogether, but they do ask it be kept to a minimum.

If you and SoulWeaver are "in trouble," then so should 99% of the site's community be. :p I'm sure this isn't a big deal.

There is not a specific rule against all secular music. Just to keep it minimal and, of course, be aware of the visual and/or lyrical content of the song/video.

Lyrics:
Stat sua cuique dies
Maél is mé tó féran
ὤλετο μέν μοι νόστος
C'est pour cela que je suis née
この道や / 行く人なしに / 秋のくれ
Ne me plaignez pas
C'est pour cela que je suis née

Translated:
To each, his day is given
Time it is for me to go
Lost is my homecoming
I was born for this
Along this road goes no one, this autumn eve
Do not pity me
I was born for this

out spread the earth
above the water
the sun rules the day
the night; moon and stars
his loving kindness is everlasting

through the wilderness
and the Red Sea asunder
he remembered us
in our low estate
thanks to God in Heaven
for his loving kindness is everlasting

WHEN GOD RAN (Just replace son with daughter and you have my life)

Almighty God, the great I am
Immovable rock, omnipotent, powerful, awesome Lord
Victorious warrior, commanding King of Kings
Mighty conqueror, and the only time
the only time I ever saw Him run

CHORUS:
Was when He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise when God ran

The day I left home I knew I’d broken His heart
And I wondered then if things could ever be the same
Then one night I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road ahead I could see
It was the only time – it was the only time I ever saw Him run

And then He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise as He brought me to my knees
When God ran – I saw Him run to me

I wish I could plug in my vocaliod playlist every time I was bored. The songs are very story based, so it always sounds like it's narrating your life no matter the song subject
