Well the good new is that God is not done with any of us yet as we are all still works in progress. As to the faith thing my most recent building of faith came in the trip to Las Vegas in November. It was a timeshare package and we got a great deal at a Hilton Resort and if we went to a timeshare presentation we paid a very low price to stay there. The only time they had for us to go to the presentation was on a Saturday.

I am a Sabbath keeper and did not want to go to that meeting on Saturday and asked if they could change it and no was the response. I booked the trip anyway and gave the problem to God and prayed that He would get the meeting changed to Friday and then believe He would do that as He knew I wanted to honor the Sabbath day. I called again and asked if it could be changed to Friday and again they said no but would put me on a list should something open up. Again I thought about calling but forgot to make the call. The next day the hotel called and told me the meeting for us had been moved to Friday and I thanked them for the change. Was I surprised by the change? No not really as God knew I wanted to honor Him and to me it was like a mountain had been moved. So yes this is a real faith builder to ask God to do something you know is in His will and then to watch Him work.

the 'mountains' are a part of us -

whether good or bad, Christ will see to it that 'we will move them'
when we need to, if we come to Him to help us.

The rice test page that was linked to comes from a Yoga/Eastern mysticism Dr. Right?

Pharoah's magicians duplicated enough of Moses/God's miracles - enough to show us things that can be done through another 'power source'.

Dangerous territory and Jesus would never ask us to play games with our words.

Jesus and Elijah didn't play games when they both multiplied food for the hungry.

Words are important when speaking to children and others. You can break someone's spirit, psyche with the words you use At them -- but to mess with rice as just an experiment is entering into another off-limits-in-Scripture frontier.
Check the source of the rice-lady in the video below the page of the link on page 1.

I knew a guy that wanted 'power' and boy - was he ever sorry. To look for power and not Just God for the knowledge of and submission to God is getting a power that comes from a source that has only one goal - to destroy you.

If we're led by the Spirit of God and God decides to use us in any way - our 'words' will be directly from His mouth and out of ours -- it's nothing one can 'experiment' with. That's called witchcraft.

It's not our 'faith' in what we are asking for --- it's our faith in Him, after He's given us that faith for any certain move of God Himself.

There's a certain Hindu guru that could make fruit appear on trees in front of a bunch of people .... was that from GOD? No.

There's a line that can be crossed in all of this 'power of words' stuff that can lead to possession and I witnessed that with the guy I mentioned earlier that tried to mess with our young adult group.

If God ever tells us to do something, it's for a very specific need --- the rice in a jar had no purpose.

Yes, we need to watch what words we use at others - but this exercise with rice is just a first step to deception because it is not something that God initiated. He never told us to experiment with the 'power of words' and if we begin to dabble in things that HE has never told us to do ... He will either show us just what dangerous realms we can step into or just let us enter them and we'll either pray to be delivered from those realms or we'll just be given over to them.

When we were young and Eastern Mysticism was becoming popular in the States with telekinesis, etc. - that was when we started to see what that woman on that rice-webpage is into.

Stay in The Word, friend and please understand that there is two realms of 'power' and only having the Mind of Christ, from His Word, will keep you safe.

I'm almost not wanting to add to this.....what is going on....these mountains you speak of ......do you think its the same mountains they trudge around for forty years.....I have faced a mountain many times....and I push right through them......I get hit by a car....left for dead....then once they did the surgery......I was diagnosed to be useless....never to walk or see.....is that a big mountain.....doctors gave up......people around me gave in........is that a big enough mountain to move.....all I had left was my faith.......and now as a result of this......I am seeing and walking and even back to work......
If that is not mountain moving......I truly don't understand what it means then.......I have more
of these mountain moving stories......its time to stand up and claim the removal of these mountains...
Are we the sons and daughters of the most High God or not......give your faith to others........you will
get more.... the more you give it away.....either you believe His whole Word or not......we can't just pick out the ones we think are possible......He said we can move mountains......then I believe I can....
Peace.....and be nice to each other............He says that too........peace ...jo

i surely didn't mean to imply we're not to have faith....in God.
in jo's case, perhaps her words showed where, or rather in Whom, her faith was?

and jruiz i'm sorry i offended you.
i agree we place ourselves and everything around and about us into His faithful hands.
(and try not to jump back out, speaking for myself)

but my faith is in God; what God has promised; what He has done and will do.
not in anything i might do or say.
because other than obeying Him, anything about me is comparatively irrelevant. :)

No my sister this is not pointed at you....you are always the voice of reason........
Im sorry......you miss understood....I get a little edgy when we argue over faith.....cause it has been
my only survival technique that has ever worked for me....moving mountains doesn't mean dirt and rock.....it means life's mountains....if I wanted to move dirt I'd get a bulldozer....

When I called you a hater,it was a figure of speech...most people on here are haters, they think they know everything..No one wants to learn anything...Like I said you quickly rejected what I said without any knowledge. Your first comment seemed a little condescending and then you buddy up to Ugly, you were making a mockery out of what I said instead of coming to me and proving that I am wrong...I thought it was rude..

Jruiz...I don't know how much time you have on forums? When I seen you start this thread I knew you was going to be in trouble....You can be a lot of things on most Christians forums and its no big deal...but if you claim to be WOF you are going to be attacked...I think there are some good reasons for that and some really ungodly reasons...best just to represent the truths you see in faith and not try to defend the WOF.

So much needs to be said of this thread......unbelievable?!
In reply to PM in PM, you did not offend me, the way this topic was handled as a whole, is what was offensive to me.
I hope this doesn't make you quit CC?

Well you didn't really explain what you meant. She had to google rice test herself.Either way you still have not said what this rice test has to do with the Bible or why its something that should be tried.Second chance to explain better what you mean.

Hmm, I seee psychomom apologizing for nothing, and Jcruiz continuing on her arrogant way.

That is the essence of what is wrong with WoF. People concentrating on the spectacular, instead, of developing character and becoming more like Christ.

My apologizes to anyone I have offended. My oft told story is of a close friend who got into the WoF, got breast cancer, claimed healing, her whole church claimed healing, she refused medical treatment because a word of knowledge said she was healed, and she died of metastizing cancer 10 months later.

I will stand against WoF for the rest of my life!

that is the exact story of our daughter's mil, as you know.

she 'spoke life' to herself till she lay dying.
:(

it was also the story of my dear friend Amanda's dad.
it's very hard to see someone you love go through that, isn't it?

ps-- moved? moving? regardless...praying for you. ♥

Yes, that marks a big difference between a Theology of Glory (WOF) and the Theology of the Cross (us suffering peons). Christ Jesus chose the latter as well as the apostles.

Heb 11:35-39 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: (36) And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: (37) They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (38) (Of whom the world was not worthy, they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. (39) And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

2Co 11:23-28 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. (24) Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. (25) Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; (26) In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; (27) In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. (28) Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

Yup, in our weakness He is made strong.

Just moved on Monday to BC. Still unpacking, and technically no internet till tomorrow. This data bill is going to be a killer!

So sorry about your daughter's MIL and Amanda's dad! This is the whole lie of WoF. It really does kill people who might have lived with the proper medical treatment!
