On Christmas Eve I went to my boyfriends house and I was triggered in a big way because my bfs dad started to yell and scream at him about his grades (which weren’t that bad) and it scared me because my bf cried. It was also really unexpected. Now almost a month later I was invited to go with them to a fishing show and at first I said yes but then I had to cancel because my anxiety was so bad. What do I do?

I'd keep going and do much observing about the interaction between your friend and his parents. You will learn some things about your boy friend and maybe will help you with a possible decision to someday marry this man.

I tried to go today. I really really tried but the thought of being in the same car as his parents brought me to tears so I had to cancel. :-(

that's ok.. at least you got a glimpse of how your bf is treated by his parents..observation is the best way to tell what a person is truly like..
