I know most of you avoid the chat room. But perhaps a group of us can arrange a special chat night (or day) like our own little CC party. The chat gives you the option of using a mic (or not), or even webcam (or not). We don't have to meet in the Lounge (that's the main room!) or the Bible Study (that is similar to the Bible Discussion Forum 
gahh!). We could meet in any of the other rooms they have available. I'm not the greatest administrator so someone else could actually arrange the details. But I can create an awesome OP invitation. LOL Anyhow... just a thought.

I don't live on this website, but I do visit CC regularly, most days and for a decent amount of time. I read more threads than I write posts, but I love the community here (save for a few bad apples in the bunch - more if you're part of the Bible Discussion Forum). I have a life and I have family and friends and God. Mostly God.

Oops, regarding my post about having a CC party in the chat room, I just read this in the rules and regulations:
11. Please do not attempt to charter a room for your own official scheduled event/Bible-teaching/Prayer-meeting/etc.
No one should think that they can officially charter one of our chat rooms for their own special event without permission/authorization from the Admin of this site. We make this rule for two reasons: (1) we don't want just anyone setting themselves up as an official teacher of the Bible here and making it seem officially organized by us; and (2) the rooms are meant for open chat, and no room should be controlled by any particular person (except as authorized by the Admin of this site).

Ok, so I alternate between here and FB. FB is a ministry for me, it keeps me busy.
I'm disabled and in a lot of pain right now, social media helps distract. I'd rather be riding my bike, visiting the elderly, or my grandchildren.
But I do think you raise some very important questions in the OP. If I was young and healthy, I don't know if I would spend much time on-line. Then again, 20 years ago, TV was the big addiction. Before that, it was people! Seriously, spending time with others is what people did on the phone or in person!
