Ive noticed that a lot of the same people are in every single post. Im just curious if most of you have jobs or hobbies or a life? I say that out of nice-ness, I really do. I honestly feel concerned that this website is most of peoples lives. That this website is where most of their friends are, behind a computer screen. I know theres a lot of websites where people do the same thing and its no different than the people who play video games all day long either, but I want to ask SOME QUESTIONS...

If you could go without this website for 1 week, could you do it without a problem?
Or would you be have withdrawls?

I think a lot of our problems these days is we forget how to be social with the real world. We easily pick up our phones when we are standing in line or waiting on something. We pick up our phones and go straight to facebook (which I don't have on my phone for that reason).

When I see the same people every time I come on this website post over and over and over, I honestly in my heart feel concerned that they arnt out living life to the fullest. They arnt being an example in the world and sharing others of Jesus. Im not saying you cant help people behind a screen, but what about others out in the world? What about the ones who don't have access or the ones who need a hand or a listening ear face to face?

Now Im sure this is going to strike a nerve to some people and I honestly think it will be the people that this topic is referring too. Like I mentioned before, its not supposed to be mean, but I am being straight-forward.

I have thought of this for awhile now, but now I think is a good time for me to mention this and get your in-put.

Well I don't have a computer. I use my phone to come here. I met someone on CC but things didn't work out and so I stopped coming back til last fall. Since then I started making new friends on here and this is the only way I can keep in contact with them. As far as threads, I feel it keeps me entertained. Life is hard as it is. So what if we get lost from it for just a little bit? I can't speak for anyone else, but I come here to keep in contact with those new friendships God has blessed me with. Because there aren't many Christians in my small town.

I have been mostly confined to bed for the last 4 months.. was not able to do anything, pretty much.. CC has been my lifeline during that time, and it was the only thing keeping me from going stark raving mad from sheer boredom.

Well, I met my wife on this site, so it has meaning, but CC is certainly not my life. I will say that I consider everyone here to be real and not virtual. I enjoy spending time with my friends on this site but I also realize that each one of us has our life to live apart from this place. I have met some wonderful people here and this place feels like home at times.

Huh?

I'm on CC while I'm at work/working.
You don't think I'd use MY free time to get on here, do you? :p

Kidding.

Sometimes I pop out mid-shower, dry off.... run to my computer to check CC, ....if it tells me no new 'notifications',
....I then go and finish my shower.
Do you think I might have a CC addiction problem?

That's what I thought about smoking. Oh, day 14 of being smoke-free, btw. Like you have said before, the pain must be processed before you can move on.

Many here know that sometime back I had serious 'puter issues.......and was absent for quite an extended period of time. So, can I go without being here on CC? Sure. Difference is I choose to be here.

Now, I am retired. And while I still have obligations (which I never ignore) I also enjoy fellowshipping with those friends I have made here on CC. But, to be brutally honest.............the weather has SEVERELY LIMITED the time I could be fishing...........soooooooooooooo, when the weather clears, and the fish are biting............

It is a wonderful site for those of us retired and NOT WORKING.....but then again I am an older female too and prowl about at different times during the night and it is a great place to go since only Wal-Mart is open 24/7 and I am a snob towards that store and refuse to be on candid camera as another Wal-Mart shopper....No way Jose.....I would rather be living life on CC than in Wal-Mart......

Yes, I have a real life and spent part of the day with a friend and hubby running around town having fun cause I got nothing better to do.....I'm retired......I also got married because of this site so I guess yes people can live on this site and live off of it at the same time....we did have to really meet to get married, but if I hadn't been on the site I wouldn't have met my husband.....I like living here...it's fun.........

the problem if not recognized: (i.e. for newbies and the immature christians) >> the ones who post the most scripture and doctrines are usually living and spreading a false gospel that may destroy many souls.

the good: there's a few who 'try' to combat the false gospel (any gospel different from the one once for all delivered ) but they usually have a life and don't have as much time nor as much OCD as the ones in error, so they may be drowned out by sheer numbers of posts in error.

the average: all the other non-vital posts is sort of hard to tell.... like all the activity in a grocery store or theater or crowd anywhere in the world.....

the prevalence of electronic devices/ is certainly (has already) leading to various 'new' diseases as reported in various news and other media studies and reports etc etc ....

and in the eww ess aye the loss of 'family' life and interactions with 'humans' is much worse than it was 40 years ago, and will be worse nexxt year than it has been..... with a few exceptions .... (thankfully! (hopefully!) (yahweh willing))......

like the thingee around peoples neck that's supposed to replace 7 family members living in the same house --- now a 'person'? can live alone and if they fall down a thingee around their neck will (presumably) notify someone somewhere who will , for money, contact them and send help if needed...... ......

i've been a member since 2011, but i would check the place out in phases. it wasn't until recently that i've posted in threads. at work, i'm at a desk all day, so in my free time (which is a lot), i check out the forum. but i do spend time with family and friends. and church activities :)
