For lack of a better word, I'm going to say I encountered a manifestation. (anyone have a better word?) But my friend with me also saw it.

How the story goes -

At 21, I was rebellious with God and had wandered away. At that time, I was rooming with a friend who owned a mobile home. We partied together for a while and ended up one Friday night at a diner having coffee at 2:30 in the morning bored outta our gourdes. My mother, who was a Christian, had come down the previous week and witnessed to my friend but I didn't want to hear anything she had to say at that time. So my roommate says to me, "Maybe there's something to God that your mother was talking about." I laughed saying that my mother must have really gotten to her. We paid the bill, left out to the parking lot to go home. I unlocked the passenger side for her and went around to get in the driver side but she was still standing there so I asked her if she was going to get in or not. She said LOOK and pointed to my roof. On the red roof was a white glowing image of a cross and a dove in the center of it. It was undoubtedly there and we stood discussing it for a good while before we got in and went home. On the way home we saw ONE sign lit up on that dark road. It was a sign for a church that I knew my brother went to. After some discussion, we decided to go there on Sunday. To make a long story short, she got saved and I repented of my wandering.

I was inspired to share this testimony because I saw Angela53510 with this profile pic so it brought that back to me. (thank you, Angela) And the glowing image was amazingly JUST LIKE this one.

After I moved out, my roommate called me about a year later to ask me if I remembered seeing that cross and dove or was it her imagination. Nope, it was real.

Thanks for the comment. :D Yea, it was certainly amazing.

Bouncing in thoughts...
I don't hang my hat on it as proof of there being a God. And I don't camp around it waiting for God to do something as awesome although I do ponder it with affection to Him on occasion knowing He was reaching out in such a mind blowing manner. Does that make sense? It's almost like God romances us home. He wooes our hearts and we fall in love with Him because well, He's already in love with us.

"We love him, because he first loved us.

Yeah I agree, generally we only get one encounter such as this (if we're lucky) and we never forget it but I feel that God gives it to us as a springboard...and then we move on. I have found that God seems to give this kind of experience to the seeking or new Christian - not that it never happens to the seasoned Christian just not nearly as often.

That's a very good point. Like the 'signs and wonders' given to the unbeliever during the Apostle era.

I've seen His moving in my life many times since then but nothing like since that time. (1981) But then I didn't need to either.

Had I camped around that miraculous movement, I would have missed out on sooo much more. Like worshiping God while standing in His presence among a mass of believers and that joy almost unspeakable comes over you. And in that moment, you feel like you never want the music to end. You never want the praise and worship to cease. Because what you've just experienced is a glimpse into what God has prepared for us in heaven. Someday, we will worship Him face to face forever.

Thank you for sharing Jesus heart thoughts with me today. :D It's been awesome!!

Yep when we worship we echo what is going on in Heaven - we are in unison, how awesome is that??? God bless you FC. :)
