Hi folks

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining a weight loss group, assuming I can work out
how to set it up on CC. It would be open to ladies and gents.

I have really neglected myself over the last couple of years due to the pressures of
life, working and caring for my elderly aunt. My own needs have been pushed out
of the way.

Anyway I have set myself a goal of losing 28 pounds which would take me to 140 pounds,
maybe a little more, but I will see how things go. I don't want to get too skinny as it doesn't suit me, besides
even when I was 120 pounds I didn't look skinny as I was born with Marilyn Munroe curves!
I'm not sure if that is good or bad, lol.

I was wondering if maybe others would be interested in losing weight, we could
encourage each other, prayer for each other, share healthy low fat recipes etc and
cheer each other on.

I want to do this in a healthy way, no fad diets etc. So maybe if you have any experience
in nutrition than you could join the group and help us all out a bit as well.

So, is anyone interested if I can work out how to set it up?

God bless
x

I don't have Marilyn Monroe curves but I am built like a hooker (a rugby position for our American friends). My bum and legs have always been obstacles because they are big and muscular (in that order) :)

I work out six days a week and yet I have a bit of a belly because my diet habits are not the best. I'd like to learn and share about exercises, diet tips and of course, prayer. I'm in! :)

I lost just over 140 pounds, but when you divide that amount by the total I spent on Lawyer Fees, well, it was an expensive diet.

Yeah but can you:-

Get up
Make breakfast
Do the dishes
Start the laundry
Pick up elderly person's pension
Finish the laundry
Change the beds
Make lunch
Do the dishes
Spend 3 hours in the garden mowing the lawn, weeding, sweeping up, strimming the lawn
Pick up elderly person's prescription
Make dinner
Do the dishes
Sort out paperwork
all while posting on CC and making numerous cups of coffee for elderly person.

Phew can't wait to go to work tomorrow I need the rest! :)

However just from my diebeties I have laerned a thing or two. first if you mean to stay away from sugar be sure to check carbs as carbs turn into sugar, also you body does require to have at least some sugar or else it won't work right and thus you won't lose weight very easily. then of course you have fats obviously stay away from anything greasy but also there is good fat like in peanut butter this fat actually gives you energy like carbs does and can help you to stay energetic but use in moderation. you body requires a certain amount of sugar carbs and fat so starving yourself of them will not help much.

Also drink lot's of water even if you have to put flavoring it because the more you drink the more you pee and when you pee or poop you are expelling the carbs and fat and sugar from your body, not all of it but it sure helps. another thing if you are really dedicated to losing weight you cannot avoid exercise. Yes it can be a pain but is crucial to any kind of body betterment. you don't have to go hard core and lift weights walking and running help beyond measure and make you feel good afterwards especially if you are sweating. if you walking I recommend at least an hour if your running 30 will do good and later on the more you do this and build your stamina increase it maybe do and hour and a half of walking and the 45 minutes of running and increase or decrease to fit you.

See diebeties has it's perks:)

I would be so interested in losing weight, I have to take medications that automatically make my weight gain far worse than it would be. Sadly I'm not sure I come on here often enough to do so :/

What is this medicine for? if it makes you gain weight it doesn't sound good.

It's mostly abilify if I remember correctly. I have OCD and anxiety, and the abilify helps to curb it so I can handle it. Sadly one of the side effects is weight gain. >_<;

I used to have anxiety attacks, and I promise you, the more time you spend in prayer and reading Scripture the stronger you will be. And if you add walking at least three or four times a week its even that much better.

I'm praying for you. :)

I purchased several workout videos, but they haven't helped a bit.

you know they have different types of meds for those conditions right? ocd isn't really a bad thing imo, you are very organized and neat and yes you sometimes have to have thing s your way because I roomed with a severe ocd before but overall it's sort of a blessing and a curse. the anxiety can be helped with meds but there are other ways as well
