The Testimony forum is such a blessing and a place of witness and encouragement,
but testimonies get very little feedback. Just wondering why that is?

The figures suggest they get lots of views but the number of responses are minimal.

Come on folks, read them be blessed and be a blessing and encouragement to
people who have posted them.

It is wonderful what God is doing in the lives of others don't you think? :)

I suppose that is fair. It would be a shame if people thought their testimonies were falling on deaf ears. :)

Sorry i don't understand your response, it would be possible for people to unwittingly post personal details on any of the
forums. What I am getting at is why dont people seem interested with the testimony forum when it is such a
blessing. What's wrong with saying "great testimony", wonderful to see how God is working in your life" etc.

just a bit of encouragement goes a long way especially when a new Christian posts their testimony for example. Isn't that
something we should all rejoice at. Heaven throws a banquet!

It may be because with testimonies there's not really an adequate response. Like, ok that happened what's for lunch. You know? Also if they are amazing testimonies we may be conditioned as people in this "question everything trust no one" world to automatically think it may be fake. Which I think is sad and something we (and I admittedly sometimes) need to get past.

Its not that I'm not happy for them, and I think it wouldn't hurt to congratulate them, but the internet is a distracting place and it can be difficult to read long bodies of text on a bright screen.

like someone a week or 2 ago posted, they wouldn't refer any of their friends to this forum -- too much 'quicksand' here (whitewashed tombs)(false pastors, not even counting any that trust the heresy rcc) ... and they can't be moderated....

the majority of posts don't pass the test of the Bereans (by simple testing, they're not in line with Scripture).... emotions (carnality/worldliness) often instigate refusing truth while propagating a lie repeatedly, without repentance.... and everyone who posts the truth is subject to traps and lies repeatedly from regulars and heretics.... in every part of the site, especially the chat rooms....

i.e. the "field is ripe for harvest", and Jesus has thrust out laborers like sheep in the midst of ravenous wolves....

test everything, accept nothing lightly nor at face value... but only if it passes GOD'S WORD test.
(since most visitors have not read the Bible, and those who trust the rcc aren't allowed to believe it(but they can still post their errors) there's a lot both old and new to beware of, according to GOD'S WORD)....

not really a 'nice' outlook, eh? like the places with the foreign gods and others actively opposed to Yahshua(Jesus) that the disciples were sent to preach and teach in... and to whom Jesus says "unless you repent, you will all likewise perish (as those had at the tower of siloam)"

he never, never, ever said repentance was optional, to be saved.
the GOOD NEWS?
"TURN TO GOD, for THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND"

the bad news?
"the rest of the world all refused to repent of worshiping demons" (only the few in the remnant did repent)....

other bad news? (a dozen regular 'preachers'(sic) on this forum(last week) had never read that the whole world refuses to stop worshiping demons , even though it is prominent in Revelation concerning these days we live in; and they all stumbled over GOD'S WORD and attacked the messenger....)

if people are going to stop worshiping demons, the same GOOD NEWS /MESSAGE/ in the NT that all the apostles preached must be preached to them(everyone on earth) also..... so those who YAHWEH has chosen to soften their hearts may turn to HIM and be saved from their sin....

Honestly? In no particular order.

1. I came to the Lord in the early 70s, when most testimonies started with "I was on drugs" and ended with "and now I'm a super-duper Christian." (Thick-headed person that I am, they tended to tell me I should try drugs. Didn't work out quite as super-duper as it did for them. Could be because I was already saved before I became that dumb.)

2. How do you fit 43 years into a testimony?

3. Most the time testimonies are from new Christians and just tell of how God saved them, but they haven't hit the hard parts yet.

4. I get jealous when they've been with the Lord for decades and the worse thing that ever happened was a long-term need for a job.

5. How does one respond?

6. Haven't really figured out why Christians need testimonies from other Christians, because aren't we getting an eye full of God almost every day ourselves? I was taught they were a witnessing tool, and they never seem to work like that.

7. I tend to need a reason to tell something God's done for me. Some way of praising him that others can understand, or something I learned the hard way so others have a shot of not having to learn it the hard way.

Now honestly? With the mess that I am, do you really want me to respond to testimonies? Sometimes a simply like is responding.

1. YUP

2. Tough to do,one can only give the highlights or the low lights?

3. Unless they themselves came out of some really rough places.

4. Just a Sunday walk in the park for some not so for others.

5. Graciously

6. It's more for those who are going through the same struggles. Many times they will not work as a witnessing tool because some will go EEEEWWWWW you are or were a fill in the blank.

7. Same here.

Join the club. Welcome to the club.

I think the testimonies are wonderful, ok there is always the
possibility of sensationalism or of trolls etc. But if someone
posts an untrue testimony that is between them and God.

I love them because it shows God is still on the throne. It shows
the Kingdom of light triumphing over the kingdom of
darkness. For some it may even be the first time they have ever
given their testimony (do you remember your first time, that
jittery nervous feeling :)).

The shiny new freshness of a new Christian is a breathe of
fresh air, why, because a God is the same yesterday, today and
forever. Us who are long in the tooth can still rejoice and
get excited about the workings of Jesus both in ourselfs and new
christians.

When I read the testimonies it increases my faith, it makes me
want to cling to Him even more. It reminds me we are the victors
in Christ.

just think, you will be meeting these people in eternity :)

Its a wonderful witness both to ourselves and others who may just
happen across cc and read what is on the forums. Just think, what
if a person was saved through reading your testimony!

Incidentally people from CC also put details of answered prayer
in the testimony forum. An encouragement for all of us and it is
right that we should give God the glory.

Atwhatcost, I understand what you mean when you refer it to
being a hard journey. The knocks of life do have a way of
scratching that shiney newness, been there done that :)

Even more reason though to give testimony to what God is
doing, how he has kept us and provided. Praise God He is
not a fair weather friend.

ps if you ever what to chat about anything or prayer for something
specific, then please feel free to pm me. I'm not super spiritual
or even that articulated in prayer, but I knew God answers prayer.
