I come by negativity naturally, my mother had the darkest mind I ever knew, she would plan for bad things to happen. If would plan to do something she would say, What if this happened if you went.

I got into the habit of thinking of the past and thinking negatively. Now I am gradually making a new habit of stopping looking intropectively and dwelling on the past. I would say, "That's the past, you know my policy on the past". I have stopped dwelling on the past in its tracks. I catch myself right away now.

On another subject, has anyone really renewed their mind, be sure you really have I what the spiritually mature to answer, tell me what it is like. I don't believe I ever have.

My mothers mind was a dark place. I don't want my mind to be darkness or death, but light and life.

Amen, we are to let our light shine. A preacher preached, we are to walk by faith, not emotions. I believe it is good to
surround ourselves with other believers who are like minded. The first thing the Lord taught me was to turn the negatives into positives.

The Bible does say "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind". We all have the choice to be positive or negative. My mom will outdo your mom in the Negative Department..She is the original Founder, a bonafied board of directors president of the negative club, having a distinquished permanent place of honor there! You say SUNSHINE, she will scream "RAIN". You say GOOD MORNING, she will say "NO, it's NOT!"..Disney used her as a role model for Drucilla but even then, made the cartoon character to be more enjoyable. Sad thing, she is a pastor's wife! Many a church function has disbanded after her presence was known. She even insists that the toilet paper in her house has to role over the top and down, instead of the opposite way. I kid you NOT! But, I gotta love her..she's my mom, and she will never change. We now live 4 states apart and I love it!

many of us have come from the dark places of others, starting when we were very young...
hence we start-out with a demonic-inspired legacy, but even so, this is beneficial for our learning
because there is so much wrong with 'worldly-thinking' that just about all that we were subject to
must be 'un-learned' - plus, we have a leg-up in understanding how the dark, carnal, mind works...
IMO, this why Paul was separated for (3)yrs. after his conversion, the Lord was 'un-doing' all of his
Pharisee thinking' and reprograming him in the ways of the One True God, and not after
the traditions of men.

these are a few of our favorite TOOL scriptures,

11CORINTHIANS 3-4-5.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God
to the pulling down of strong holds;

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;...

as 'passing_through' has said,

he catches himself, and this what we must do.....it's any sinful thought, we have to gird-up the loins of our mind,
and cast it down to the ground, and bruise it with our heels.

our Father in heaven has given us all of the tools that we will ever need, and when we learn to use them properly,
we need not fear, because Christ is The Author and Finisher of our Faith, The Great Perfector.
