Baptist(''Southern Baptist''), but I don't really care for labels. If the church is teaching the right things and the people are great, I'd attend, no matter what the name says lol.

Thanks for your reply! I grew up Church of God [Anderson, Indiana] (which is a non-denominational movement). Am currently seeking a place of worship for myself and family.

I went to the PCA website. Did some other investigation. Glad they still maintain that homosexuality is a sin. That the Bible is the inspired word of God. That they do not engage in some of the contemporary style teaching and preaching. They emphasize truth. All these are commendable.

Didn't find anything on excommunication. atwhatcost, do you know what they believe?

You excommunicated me-put me on your ignore list-what must I do to be un-ignored? What sayeth the PCA?

Non-denomination

Which....let's be honest....is a denomination in itself. But, I grew up in the Assemblies of God church and just recently left about a year ago.

I don't care about denominations. As long as it lines up correctly with Scripture.. Who cares. My "main" church is a Baptist church, where I spend the most time at.. I also take part in ministries of those offered at a non denominational one... The very first church I started going to before I transferred to university was a Methodist one. So yeah.. To me, it doesn't matter, as long as it goes with Scripture.

To me the name is irrelevant....it is what they teach that matters...Having said that though, most denomination teach particular doctrines and a church can almost be known by it's affiliation....although I don't agree with everything they teach I would be closely aligned with what a Landmark Missionary Baptist Church teaches...

No church is going to be perfect. Each church does things differently, whether it's worship, the way the pastors preach, the type of ministries offered.. Hence, why I go between a Baptist and Non Denominational. Both offer types of ministries the others don't. And the non denominational offers service on Saturday nights in addition to Sundays, whereas I can still go to Sunday service at the Baptist church. At the end of the day, YOU need to line up with what is being preached with Scripture. We can never put our complete faith in a church, because a church is made of imperfect people like us. And if we start focusing on them instead of Christ, that's when things get dicey. It's always best to read the Bible yourself, while looking for a church you can agree with and feel is right for you.

There is an Assemblies of God church in the neighborhood where I grew up that has a Christmas program every year called "Tribulation Christmas" and it's really awesome! The praise and worship at that church is wonderful!

I attend Calvary Chapel.

I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Church. I left the Catholic Church when i started reading the Bible and saw how way off the Catholic Church was from the Truth.

Wow! I can your thoughts as you searched the scriptures and compared them to Rome's teaching: "Pope in Rome. But no pope in the bible. Pray to Mary taught by Rome. But not in the bible. Pray to the Father in name of Jesus in bible. The man behind the booth is my priest, according to Rome. But not according to the bible. Oh, Jesus, sitting at the right hand of the Father, he's the High Priest, yes, that's what I find in the bible. Purgatory taught by Rome. Again, not in the bible." On and on.
