I don't have any crazy story to tell, but I remember googling Christian Chat one day. I've been a member of many different forums over the years and I used to be part of one dedicated to Christian fans of anime and manga (don't worry, I'm not obsessive). I just wanted to join another Christian discussion forum. I'd browsed many others, but you either had to be a MENSA-equivalent theologian to make head or tale of most discussions or there was little to nothing to separate it from a non-Christian discussion forum. I actually browsed this forum for several weeks before I decided to join. Here's my very first post. Not a whole lot has changed.
G'day!
It's great to be here. My name is Christian and I'm an Aussie. I'm also a Christian and have been ever since I can remember (and before that, perhaps). Father/Son/Spirit and family and friends are all incredibly important to me. I
love reading. My favourite fiction books include Stephen King's
The Stand, Herge's
The Adventures of Tintin (naturally) and C.S. Lewis'
The Chronicles of Narnia - and many, many others. Both the
Narnia and
Tintin books created in me a love for reading. The
Narnia books have been instrumental in helping me to grow in my faith and imagination (all the way from childhood to adulthood), while
Tintin sated my thirst for adventure. I love to write stories and draw cartoons and have an interest in philosophy, mythology and theology. I enjoy movies and quality discussion. My favourite TV series of all time is
LOST. I believe that imagination and faith go hand-in-hand and that the Church needs to embrace the Arts rather than shy from them. I strive to be discerning. Finally, I enjoy exploring God's fingerprints in popular culture. Story is my life.
