There must have been one like this before but I can't find it. So here goes, a thread for us to post random interesting and/or mind blowing facts. Adding a link will make it sound even more convincing.

Did you know that there are more than 50 known musicians in JS Bach's family tree? Mind blown.

Did you know that 1, 000 Christmas trees were stolen from Costco recently?

Which is really odd, because everyone knows that tradition states that we are to set up and decorate 900 trees in each of our houses......anything over that, would be going overboard.

* The first Thanksgiving was only eaten with spoons and knives. In 1620 the pilgrims didn't bring them. It was introduced 10 years later by Governor Winthrop of Mass. but it was not brought into popular use until the 18th century.

* Benjamin Franklin wanted the Turkey to be the National Bird. Thank God for Thomas Jefferson right?!! who fought Benjamin over this wanting the Eagle instead. Yet, should we be so thankful? Benjamin Franklin had an interesting point, that makes it somewhat ironic as we see the results of our Nation currently: Benjamin Franklin's reasoning was that the Turkey has a much greater significance to the American people {being the main food source for the pilgrims} and claimed the Eagle had "bad moral Character." Hmmmm. How ironically insightful. I wonder what bird Jesus would have chosen in that decision to represent us?

I looked for the dumbest, most stubborn bird that I could find on the internet.

It would probably be the kakapo, or the turkey... lol

Actually the eagle is used several times in scripture in very positive spiritual ways... Even Christ Himself is used with the typology of the eagle.

Sure...we have lots of New Testament scriptures that tell us to let each man esteem a day as seems right to his own conscience.
A day of thanksgiving has always been seen as a day to glorify God to the Christians in America. Now what it means to you or others? Don't really effect us and our intentions ...God is pleased with us in our celebration

I do not celebrate this holiday, but I do love God..Reason I don't celebrate it, is because when I did celebrate it..Either people did not show up, and food got wasted..or when I decide not to cook, no one ever invited me to theirs. So I celebrate big meals throughout the year!
