I'm posting this here, instead of the "Bible Discussion" forum, because I'm not looking for a debate. I know the topic of "Speaking in Tongues" is a highly debated topic amongst us Christians. I just wanted to share this...

I was reading an article today about Dr. Andrew Newberg, a neuroscientist. He compared brain scans of Christians praying in tongues with Buddhist monks chanting and Catholic nuns praying. The study showed the frontal lobes—the brain's control center—went quiet in the brains of Christians talking in tongues. This proves that speaking in tongues isn't a function of the natural brain but an operation of the Spirit. ...Cool, Huh?

1Cor 14v15 states: "...I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding."

What the brain scans show is what Paul refers to here:

"I will pray with the spirit" - is when we pray in tongues, it is our spirit that is being used with the aid of the Holy Spirit...

"I will also pray with the understanding" - is when we pray using our minds with prayers constructed by our minds...

QED!

Very cool! What's even more cool is science is supposed to disprove God and Christianity but it instead showed evidence
