Maybe it's me and I'm just a bit dense, but has anyone else noticed
the word wars on CC. Lol.

Are we in a competition to see who can use the longest, complicated
and most baffling jargon in our posts and the winner has the
privilege of no one contesting their post - probably because no one
understands it! Or as I was saying, am I just a bit thick!

Here are a few sentences I found on the net as examples, see if you
can translate them into plain English. Or maybe add your own for us to
translate.

1) Prior to completing the application the applicants should determine
if their qualifications meet the requirements of the program.

2) The acquisition, operation and disposal of vehicles can be significantly
improved

3) In our present circumstances, the budgetary aspect is a factor which
must be taken into consideration to a greater degree

4) Timeliness of response, which usually depends on the proximity of rescue
resources to incidents, is a critical factor in saving people in distress.

5) Where a cheque is tendered in payment, the name of the corporation
must be entered on the face of the cheque.

Frankly all that makes good sense to me without putting it in the Cantonian common tongue, but since you requested it:

1. Before you finish are you even ready for this job?

2. Getting, cruising, and disposing of a whip should be easier yo.

3. Mang, I ain't got the money for this bullcrap.

4. Hurry the eff up and get over here, pplz are dying!

5. Make sure you write my name clearly on that check son, I need them ducats.

2) Hurray up!

3) We can't afford this.

4) Get a move on.

5) Da cheque is useless if not filled out correctly.

I post few words. No one contests them most of the time probably because I don't give them much to work with.

Hi Elisabet, Lol that's the point - what in the world are we talking about. :)

Here are a few random examples I have pulled off CC, they are completely
out of context, but even in context I think I would struggle to "loop my brain
around the barrage of ultra descriptive scenario settings" :D

Ps to folk who might recognise these, be assured there are many more but your's
were just the ones I found first. :p
