If something is fake God will reveal it to us that that we can find what is really true, amen.
So true...

For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part, for there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized.

Yes this forum is completely fake... it doesn't exist. It is just a figment of your imagination.

Maybe CC should have a separate forum for individuals to post their good byes instead of the News Forum.

Are you leaving us? If so, it is with sadness I bid you goodbye, PeacefulWarrior. Thank you so much for all you have done trying to bring reconciliation to fractious issues by mediating the opposing forces. Your desire for peace and genuine discourse was evident in how you conducted yourself here, and you devoted much effort to that end. Thank you also for standing with me when so many opposed a simple truth I stated. You kindness and even keeled perspective have been appreciated by many, and will not be forgotten. Happy trails to you! May God continue to richly bless you. :)

What is with this childish nonsense of having to announce we are leaving, and publically asking that our account be deleted?

Just leave.

Our posts do not get erased, so what are we accomplishing by metaphorically stomping our feet and holding our breath in a little temper tantrum?

Are we so pitifully weak-willed that we crave attention like that? "Everybody look at me!" "I have had my feelings hurt!" "I'm gonna go eat worms." "Feel sorry for me."

If someone pissed you off, and you feel you just have to tell that person off, do so in a PM... and call them everything you have been aching to call them. If they report you, and you get kicked off, so what? Isn't that what you wanted anyway......... someone else taking the responsibility of making sure you don't log onto this site anymore?

I have to admit, I really don't understand this desire for the spot-light of negative attention.
I wasn't just talking about simply leaving. I was asking why we feel a need to make a public display out of it. Frankly, most of the time, few people really care anyway.
It's in the hope that others will take notice of their divisive ways and change.

But it doesn't really work now, does it?

That is simply not true, Willie. Many good ones who leave or are banned, are missed greatly by many of us. We are saddened and angered when the good ones get chased off by the bad worms here. Just because YOU might not care if they leave, does not mean that WE don't care, because we do.

A departing members forum, just like the new members one!

Just some thoughts to consider please.

I also liked many of PeacefulWarrior's comments/posts. Personally had no problem with him. That being said, there are different ways to do things. Some good, some not such a good idea.

IF one wishes to exit a Public Forum/Site (regardless of the venue), then they should just do so. Why is it necessary to advertise that exit? The only purpose for such an exit is to take an opportunity to criticize the Forum/Site, and/or encourage complimentary statements from other members.

I do not know RoboOp, or any of the Owners, Admin(s), or the Moderators. What I do know is that the Owner(s), Admin(s) and Moderators invest a lot of time, effort, and expense to keep a Public Forum/Site online and running problem free. Often times, with little gratitude or even acknowledgement.

If the average Member actually realized what goes on "behind the scenes" they would have a greater appreciation for the people who work to provide them a Forum/Site to fellowship on. There are numerous attacks that occur every day upon Sites (especially Christian Sites) where the objective is to disrupt and/or shut down the Site. Then there are the Trolls who create a Member Profile and come to the Site to do the same thing. To create problems among the Members, and to gain attention to themselves.

These things have to be identified and the Site/Members protected from. There is nothing FAKE about the work required to keep such a Site as Christian Chat up and running.

I know that people can become upset, sad, disappointed, or even angry by the sometimes less than Christian commentary here on C.C. But, rather than blame the Admin(s), Moderators, blame the folks who are truly responsible. The Members. A Public Forum/Site is ONLY as good as it's Members (regarding the quality of content).

Again, I ask folks to consider, if someone determines (for whatever reason) that they no longer want to be a Member here on C.C. then simply stop posting. As well, they can send a Personal Message to the Admin(s) or one of the Moderators asking them to delete their Account.

I can not state that this is the Police of Christian Chat, but I would think if a Member did this, and had been well regarded during their Membership, and should they (at a later date) decide they would like to rejoin under a new Screen Name or Profile, they would probably be allowed to. Don't take this as POLICY, it is just my opinion. I know when I owned a Site, that I would do this for Members who simply needed a "break" from the Forum/Site.

Anyway, just my thoughts............
Thanks so much for sharing that insightful explanation and helping us to appreciate all the hard work behind this screen, p_rehbein. And for your kindness, here's a pic of cute kittycats because I know you love cats as I do.

He had some very non-biblical ideas that he promoted often, but I didn't dislike all of his posts. There were some good ones.

EXHIBIT 1:

As to what Admin and Mods have to deal with is currently displayed on the BDF.

What a sad thing that some person would go to all this effort to disrupt a Public Forum.

Well, the same kind of people did the same thing in Arizona to Trump supporters.

I've been tempted to leave sometimes but I stay because there are individuals here with whom I enjoy Fellowship. Bullying and shaming those who disagree are common tactics here. Typically I Stand My Ground when I have an unpopular opinion but I often have to choose my words wisely because if I said what I really wanted to say, I would probably be banned

I posted this in a thread you had created awhile back.........

I use to get frustrated with how rude some are but I have learned that people cannot give what isn't in them. I have said this several times on here, we are all at different points with our walk with God. If I cannot reason with a person, I move on. It's okay to agree to disagree. Noone is right ALL of the time and on every point. Also, everyone who posts may not be Christian so once someone shows me who they are I believe them. :D

There are certain areas of the forum where I excercise self control and I don't participate. I know what is for me and what isn't and it's okay not to comment on everything. If I have something to say or there is a verse or a scripture to share that is appropriate for the discussion at hand, I share it.
One plants, another waters and God will bring the increase. :D

If I see that a convo is going in a negative direction I'll just stop responding. Problem solved, I don't need to have the last word. Sometimes silence is the loudest voice. This is working for ME, it my not be the best course of action for another.

So just stop responding to the negative and let your light shine that God can be glorified. You have no control over what others do just pray for them and move on to brighter things. Blessings

The word "fake" is what bothers me about the OP. Like one GIANT, sweeping condemnation of everyone in the forum. Including people that are always kind, offering cookies, gentle and peacemakers. (I'm obviously NOT talking about myself, LOL!)

It is one thing to say, goodbye, or to say the forum wasn't right for them, or they had other interests to look after, yadayadayada!

And another thing to kick everyone when they basically have no way respond and to speak the truth in love and respond.

And I am in total agreement with others who posted "Why post a nasty exit post, anyway?" Seriously, is this the only way people can "come out on top?" Because being a Christian, walking with Christ is not a competition, it is not about "winning" verbal or Bible word wars.

Being a Christian means we are transformed into the image of Christ.

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18

I do hope and pray that PW finds a fellowship where the people are "real." Except I don't understand what that means! Because on this journey with Christ, we are all being sanctified which means we are not perfect yet! As a loosely knit body of believers, there are many hurting people, who respond in ungodly ways. Our job as mature believers is to teach, love and encourage those who do not respond in a "Christian" manner. And then let the Holy Spirit do his job in their hearts and lives. As for trolls, well, we talked about that in the BDF, and truly, these people are often motivated by evil and despicable minds and souls. But God can even save them!

So why was this posted in the News Forum, anyway? (Did we ever get an answer?)
