Are there any singers here? This afternoon we had a music festival at a nearby church, where choirs from several churches gathered to sing some songs. Each choir did a song or two by itself, and then we did a couple of mass choir songs. It was the first time I’d done anything like that since high school. It was a lot of fun.

Yes, I sing in our church choir. When I was a younger fellow, I wanted to be a famous singer-song writer. Now I find singing tenor in a choir might be more suited to my abilities. Sorry about the audition. Maybe you should practice for a while and then try again.

Maybe you'll find another choir to sing in. In my old age I've discovered choral music to be very fulfilling.

We used to have a young lady here who was a wonderful singer..........She recorded several of the Psalms.......and shared them with us.

I don't know what happened.......maybe she "made it?" And, is on tour or something......but I loved to listen to her sing.

I have a couple of her songs on my Lap Top, but they won't down load here.......

Yes, I sing -- done all kinds of singing -- opera, choral, church music, etc.

I'm currently the music director at my church -- play the organ and piano and lead the choir. I also sing in a community choir here.

I remember once I sang in a "Festival of Worship" which included 5 local church choirs. Each choir sang one piece by themselves and the mass choir sang several works together. It was absolutely AMAZING.

Your Festival of Worship sounds very similar to what we did Saturday afternoon.

I sing though I wouldn't call myself a "singer." I don't do rounds or tours or anything.

I loved singing in the choir when younger, they put me way in the back, I thought it was
because I was so tall, but it wasn't that...

my husband has a very unusual sounding voice, very pleasant/pleasing to hear, and is an amazing
song writer -
I am so blessed, he will sing for me any time I ask...

I sing...it isn't pretty, well at least not to me. My kids love it and love it when I wake them singing. Singing is a gift GOD did not bless me with, however I still sing because I am singing my love for GOD.

I can't sing, but one time I was forced to. I was filling in to preach for a friend of mine at his church - I get there and they tell me the usual person who leads the singing was gone as well XD .. so I had to do it. It was the worst. -_-

When I was a kid, our music teacher made us all sing a solo in class. That was scary. I don't know why your church made you lead the congregation, now that I think about it. I suspect you aren't the only one in your congregation that can sing.

Haha maybe so. Nice people. I had been there once or twice before to fill-in. It was a rather small church though, so I was glad I didn't have to show my face there the next week! But I do enjoy listening to those who are more blessed to sing than I am lol.
