for me, one of my most life growing experiences was when Jesus gave me the assurance and faith
that there was no other human being on this earth or in His heart who could replace me, that woman
that He had created me to be...

therefore, He assured me that all of my old insecurities and doubts were just old habits that He
would teach me to 'over-come', so that I could go on and grow into that woman whom He had
always intended for me to become...

Abundance 9.37.08 AM.jpg

Until you are content with what you have, you will never recognize abundance. Proverbs says that the greedy person always calls for “more”, no matter how much they have.
Once you settle in to being comfortable with what you have, anything added to that will be your abundance.
According to Jesus, we all should have an abundant life.
But are we in that place of contentment to recognize it?

a great question to ask ourselves, and we do this quite often, as to not fall back into
what the world would have us believe is contentment...

if we can't or for some reason refuse to recognize those who love and support us,
then we must question ourselves to the very heart of our own calling, about our own life
that we claim we have with Jesus,...He always keeps us on our toes, it doesn't stop, ever...

Blessed.jpg

At 10, I felt blessed with so many good books to read.
At 16,I felt blessed when I met my future husband.
At 21, I felt blessed when I gave birth to my first child.

As the years went by, I began feeling blessed by more and more small things. And then even smaller things. Now it is by things that were not even considered blessings when I was younger.

Now as a senior, I feel blessed when I walk and not fall. When I wake up each morning free of pain. When I can figure out the workings of my computer. When I can read and comprehend an instruction manual. When I hear more clearly the whisperings of God, and the scriptures are becoming more understandable.

Maybe blessings are more easily seen as you age. Or is it because you are finally simplifying?

nice post joi!

yes, when we get the courage to start 'letting-go', we definitely begin to simplify -
out with the old and in with the new each and every day,
how could we not begin to hear and feel our Creator more clearly, not to mention,
Love Him more?...

Build 2.jpg

We are always busy building something.
A family, a friendship, a business, a ministry or even a craft.
If the word of God is the foundation, Christ’s name is on the walls, and His plans followed, what you are building will not use up your energy and destroy you in the process.
Whatever you are building should also be building you up. Not tearing you down. Becoming more simple – less complex and confusing.
What are you building?

Carried.jpg

We began life by being carried. First, it was our mother’s womb.
Then it was God who took us from that place. He carried us in our weaknesses, our pains and even when we struggled against being carried. He carries us through every trial…even unto old age.

Sometimes we don’t recognize that we are being carried. But the One who carries us never lets go. Remember the old hymn, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”?

“Safe and secure from every harm…”

Celebrat.jpg

There are many forms and ways to celebrate. It does not all have to be noisy. But the capacity to celebrate is a God given gift. Celebration can be a simple candle lit, or a party. It can be a letter written or it can be a dance.

The first act of celebration should be in a prayer to the Lord, expressing your joy. Let him join you in the feeling. It is so easy to go to him when hurting or in need, but all too often we turn to a friend to share that first moment of joy. Allowing the Lord to hear your voice only intensifies the feeling. You might even see him celebrating!

The first miracle Jesus performed was to add to the celebrations of a wedding. Whatever you decide to celebrate, in a way you are also turning the “water” into “wine”.

Celebrate when your prayers are answered.
Celebrate when God’s presence feels especially near.
Celebrate when another person has joy.
Celebrate the health you have.
Celebrate the birth of a baby.
Celebrate someone’s entry into heaven.
Celebrate the Word of God.
Celebrate the beauty of nature.
Celebrate your life.
Celebrate anothers growth in Christ.
Celebrate every good gift that comes today.

Compassion copy.jpg

Compassion is a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.
It is a “suffering with” another person.

That strong desire to relieve someone of her/his pain is a call to prayer.
Jesus felt compassion when he saw so much sorrow among the people, and withdrew himself for a time to meet with the Father for instructions and power to heal.

We also need to withdraw ourselves from speaking or acting until we gain God’s perspective in prayer when we are deeply concerned for another. Sometimes we are told to act – sometimes to wait – sometimes just to continue in prayer.

And when we are hurting, it helps to remember His compassion for us, with a strong desire to alleviate our suffering.
He always suffers with us – feels what we are feeling.

conversation.jpg

In the beginning, God created conversation.
All creation heard his voice saying, “It is good”.

He gave us a good pattern of how we can begin any conversation – with a positive acknowledgment. – with appreciation – and with praise.

And we respond back to him, “You are good.”

decisions.jpg
I always wanted to see the “whole picture” when making a decision. That was impossible to know. So my imagination tried to figure all the outcomes of the possibilities before me. Which only confused me more.

One day I felt God telling me to just “do the next right thing”, and to stop trying to see into the future. Many times the next right thing was just to do nothing until I had a definite direction to move….

One step at a time.
The next right thing to do.
