Rain wasnt given until after the flood. I sure hope you dont stand out in it:)
Seriously? Rain wasn't given until AFTER the flood? If that's true, then what flooded the earth, if it wasn't rain? Rain obviously was given DURING the flood.. lol

1 Timothy 4:1-3 KJV:

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [SUP]2 [/SUP]Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Right. And there was probably rain prior to the Great Flood, but we're not told either way. There's no reason to believe that the post-Flood rainbow was the first ever rainbow. Only that God attached real meaning to it when He made the covenant with Noah and his family and their descendants (all of us post-Flood people).

There is a problem, 10 billion people cannot be fed on animals, there is just not
enough land on which to graze them, so our future is one or another form
of vegitarian diet, with insects or other grown protein.

So the age of mass farming of animals are numbered. Maybe 50-100 years.

So I think it does not matter, it is the way we have to go.

The numbers are simple. To feed an animal for food takes 9 fields, to grow
the same protein, 2 fields. Not difficult to see the pressure.

Currently we farm 70% of all the available land possible, so reuse of the land
is our only option.
We don't use the resources right (we eat too much meat and too little vegetables), but it's a long shot from saying we eat too much meat to saying that those who do so are murderers (as some militant vegans do).

Right. And while we do have to look after the world God has gifted us (be good stewards), the overpopulation 'stats' and talk about having to eat insects to survive is just a load of non-biblical nonsense perpetuated by atheists who believe we're nothing better than animals anyway, but act like we are better (for some reason - they're so terribly inconsistent in what they believe). All of this tosh is derived from an evolutionary worldview. And yet, somehow they see humanity as evolving into something greater than before? Ha!

The first rains came during the flood. There was no rain before that. The bible makes strong inferences to that. God allowed mankind to eat meat after the flood; it is obvious he was not endorsing it. In fact people may have been eating meat already in the sinful days of Noah before the flood. It could be God was just conceding that mankind was doing it anyway and said go ahead, I am not thrilled by this, but it won't affect your salvation.
I am going to a vegan diet because of the health reasons, although I think God approves when we respect his creation and abstain from killing animals directly or indirectly.
The world is sinful enough, why make it worse then it already is?

I really like the word tosh. I don't hear that word here in the US. When we teach the Pre K kid's about Australia we have a book that has some of the terms Austrailans use, G'day mate, is something they learn. For about a week after they learn it I hear g'day mate all the time.

*sigh*

Rain probably did exist before the Flood. We are only told of the pre-Flood precipitation conditions in regards to the pre-Fall Garden of Eden and not to the rest of the pre-Flood world. God did allow mankind to eat meat following the Flood, but it's your opinion that He didn't endorse it. The Bible seems to suggest otherwise. And of course, people would've eaten meat before the Flood, just not the godly people. Your attitude concerning God is a bit worrisome. Good for you that you're a vegan, but it's quite possible to respect God's creation and eat meat.

And here's the appropriate Bible passage that suggests meat is God's gift to us, post-Flood (if we so choose).

Genesis 9:2-3
The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.

You would still get wet, whether you stand in mist like the garden of Eden or if you stand in the rain (post the fall not the flood).

God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins NOT plants.

He accepted Able sacrifice of a lamb and NOT Cain of grain.

It says the shedding of BLOOD is needed for the remission of sins.

The Bible endorses the killing and eating of meat in THIS world,

We don't live in the garden of Eden.

If people have the means and money to get "plant based protein" instead of meat, then they have been blessed.

God is more concerned with overall health and the conditions of the heart than specific diets.

Also more Bible examples:

After His ressurection, Jesus ate fish.
God have the Israelites Manna AND BIRDS to kill and eat in the desert.
One of God's prophets ate whatever the crows brought him...dead scavenged meat

If you want to be vegan, that's a personal choice, just don't condemn others for not following your choice. Eating meat doesn't go against the Bible and is not considered a sin by God,

Excellent post, Ariel! I think that all that really needs to be said is that Jesus ate fish and lamb. And as the Son of God, He couldn't sin. Therefore, while we don't need to eat meat if we so choose, it's not sinful to eat meat.

When my oldest daughter was in 4th or 5th grade she came home from school and told us she was vegan now.

We asked her why she decided to be a vegan all of a sudden. She said a couple of vegans came to her class and discussed how bad and mean it was to eat meat.

My wife was really, really mad. She was about to go to the school and start ranting and raving but I told her lets just wait and see how much our oldest daughter really understood about what she was getting herself into.

That night for dinner we were having pizza. But we told my oldest daughter that she couldn't have any. She said 'can't I just pick off the meat'. I said you could if you were a vegetarian. But a vegan can't have cheese either. She said 'I can't have cheese, either?' . Nope.

So then she said 'what can I have for dinner then'?

My wife said 'cereal is the only thing I can think of'.

So my daughter said 'that's not so bad, I can have cereal for dinner'.

She got out her bowl and poured the cereal. Then she grabbed the milk. I said 'whoa, what are you doing? You can't have milk if you're a vegan.'

She said 'I can't even have milk?'

Nope.

I don't think I can be a vegan dad. That's ok, neither can I....

Well taught and said! Vegans....the shameful eaters that shame others for eating meat yet fail to realize that dead cows/animals make the fertile soil/compost for their corn on the cob....so they are indirectly eating animals muhahahhaha....

Well its 'inhumane' don't you know. To kill animals for food. Its bad form.

Except when predators do it. That's ok. They were naturally built for that sort of thing... lol

I think the more of you that are persuaded into veganism the better it is for me. More meat and cheaper too. Cheese and eggs as well.

So I absolutely support veganism. I think most of you should at least try it for a year or two. Just to see. I bet you will be healthier and feel more energized. Isn't that the claim? How will you know for sure that they are full of it unless you try?

Although, how will you make your cookies and cakes without milk and eggs? Well, you're smart, you'll figure it out...

Exactly, these are the same kind of people who tell starving Africans to not hunt impala/elephants b/c it will cause harm to the Earth not realizing that their fellow human being is skin and bones starving....and needs food...."oh but it will add to the carbon footprint of the Earth" blah blah bs

Conservation is good but over-conservations causes neglect of others in this case fellow human beings....

Everyone else drive a pinto but I will drive my 747 in my backyard - global warming activitist/hollywood actors/politicians...

if that's not hypocritical "carbon" footprint I don't know what is?

Willie was just being facetious, PollyAnna. He's a very playful brother in Christ. :)

Btw, Haley Mills starred in a movie from the 60's called, Pollyanna. My sister & I really enjoyed that movie when we were very young. Is that where you got your user name? :D
