I am in Bible college and I have one professor that just talks...

about the same stuff every day..

You can imagine I am losing my mind right now. He is an amazing person, but I do not think he should be teaching this subject anymore haha.
Lemme show you my frustrations...

We are studying the Pentateuch and we are currently 8 weeks into class and we are still talking about the first three chapters of Genesis.

The way he is headed, by December we might be in Exodus.

I am all for paying attention in class, but we are literally reading Genesis 3... as I type.. my classmate is reading about the fall of man.
We did this on the first day of class.............

I'm going crazy.

I had a history teacher like that once lol. He was in Vietnam and would always get sidetracked and start talking about that. Just keep studying on your own, and you should be fine. Its what I had to do:)

What does your syllabus say? Is there a class schedule?

I was a professor for many years, and this behavior is inexcusable. Talk with the department head. You should not be paying good tuition for that.

I went to a Bible college and I had a professor like that. I had no idea how we managed to get everything done that was on the syllabus.

Toughen up. I see this as a very good thing. There's so much in the early chapters of Genesis. It's foundational to the Gospel. Also, it's often the most overlooked part of the Bible, so his attention to detail is commendable.

I had a math teacher like this. He grew up in Germany because his dad was stationed there due to being in the military. Whenever we wanted to get off task and not wanted homework we just brought Germany up and there went about an hour lecture on it....he actually passed away a year after I had him he was truly a neat man....

Then I had a business instructor in college who was from England and when we didn't want to do anything we just brought up America vs Europe and he wouldn't shut up about anything else. Sometimes we could get it to carry over to the next class ha!

My English AP teacher for senior year of high school was totally obsessed with Survivor the tv show. She would literally talk about it for the whole class period most of the time. It was awesome! We didn't learn much in class, but we all got A's. ;)

Lol, he is old.
I love him, but it'll be okay,

we learn a lot from his stories and teaching over the same subject for weeks. lol

He is just an OT professor so he loves staying in OT.

I had a class with him last year I was really excited about. It was called Intro to the Bible because I have never read the whole Bible. I was disappointed when all he would lecture on was in the OT. BUT, it's okay lol

I may have misunderstood you. How often is this class? Once a week? A few times a week? That makes all the difference. Still, I get what you're saying. He should be finished early Genesis by now. As for the OT. It makes sense that your professor focuses on it because it's the part of the Bible most often overlooked by many Christians. But it's so very important. I don't quite understand his method. That said, Exodus is another great study and Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are all important, but they deal with much the same material so any more than 5 lessons on those last three books would drive anyone mad. Unless you look at some of the lesser-known/more interesting parts of those books. Then it could be a blast.
