I was thinking about this the other day, the bible talks about growth
and how new babes need the sincere milk of the word, then there are
grown up Christians etc.

So forget about your real age, how old do you think you are spiritually.

As for me it varies, I would say mostly I am out of my teen
years and maybe late 20s early 30s ie no longer a youngster in Christ but I still
have massive amounts of spiritual growing up to do. But then depending who I
am around I sometimes feel like a spiritual toddler!

What about you; and what do you think helps us to grow in Christ.

If you are a spiritual pensioner, what does that feel like?

You become "old"spiritually when you really die to self, and give your life into only his hands - accepting what he gives you, and also what he does not. You finally become content. That is maturity.

Others and what they need become more important than what you need. Your eyes are off of yourself.

Maturity isn't a final goal that you absolutely obtain. It is always something we reach for. And it feels good when those moments come. As you finally learn that you don't have to have what you think you have to have, you are much more free to just focus on the Lord - and experience his faithfulness to take care of you in his perfect plan for your life.

I am 3 today. On 9-29-13 I was reborn, regenerated, and made new. It is still as mind blowing to me today as it was then. I think it took about a month to pick my jaw up off the floor after realizing "It's all REAL, God is real and Jesus is the (only) way to Him". Lol, the only thing I could think to pray the first 6 months was thanks, and it would go like this "Lord just thank you for.....thank You for.......well everything. That was about all I could even say to God at first. Blessed are all that come to know Him, it's just amazing. I was also 33 when it happen too, I always liked that for some reason.

Tough question.

Give too young an age and I'll be casting a prideful light on my humility.

Give too old an age and I'll look prideful outright.

I'll abstain and say that I'm the age God has me at. Old enough to know more than most. Young enough to still have difficulty grasping some of the basics because the ways of God are so over my head.

Do you think that to a certain degree that also depends on whether you are retired or not.

Ive heard a few older people same the same but I think it would be difficult to be content and calm
While still being busy working mum juggling everything - just one example.

That's not to say you aren't busy, I'm sure you are. I just think that while ever we are
tied to the need to please an employer, look for a job to please the state, and or
have so many other requirements then it's hard to really be content and feel at peace.
Its like we aren't free to just serve God, there is always an external master wanting a
piece of us?

The bible says the born of the spirit person Is just and made perfect.

Not really. I had 5 kids and working at at the same time. It had nothing to do with age. I went through a "death of self" before the Lord way back then. Somehow I just kept my heart open to what the HOly Spirit was asking of me. It wasn't easy to deny self - and being content has nothing to do with the very real concerns you have with children, jobs, etc. It is a heart thing that I guess you could call faith for lack of a better word. I just completely trusted that all would eventually be well (which brought peace). I just believed what God said in His word.

It isn't about serving God as much as trusting him. And I've had to trust him when all else was falling down around me in so many ways.

I'm about 8 and a half.

Too old for milk all the time but too young to really prefer steak.

Can I get just hamburger helper and a glass of milk?

I'm extremely confused about spirituality. I have questions and no satisfactory answers. I can connect with some things on an academic level, but don't feel any emotional connection to them.

I don't know that I have even been conceived yet.

That emotional fuzzy wuzzy feeling can be over rated.
What is important is whether you know you are saved, if you walk and talk
with your saviour each day. :)
