Well friends it would appear that the "Lighten up on bans" thread just got nuked. I was in the middle of posting a quote from Jeff Foxworthy when I was informed that I didn't have permission to access that page due to awaiting approval from an admin (as if I had just registered). But I'm still logged in, though.

I have to say that I'm glad that thread is gone, because there were some senseless insults being thrown in there..........

It was good that they stopped it.
He was just about to go after Magenta and if they left that open it was about to get a lot worse than it already had been.

Well I didn't want to engage him and add fuel to the fire, which is why I posted about that song from the group Blur, and then attempted (albeit unsuccessfully) to post a Jeff Foxworthy quote. And if he did decide to come after me, I would just keep posting things that wouldn't acknowledge his existence. :D

I legitimately have a problem with the lack of banning. Like you NMBH, I was putting a post up when it "disappeared". Here it is:

Do you know what's even more amazing? Not a single post about the Bible Discussion Forum! I'm so totally confused over that.....:confused:

But seriously, dont'cha think because it's the BDF that the banning rules should be more strict in it? I've heard so many over the years say they wouldn't be caught dead in that place because of the arguing & false doctrine in it. Do you think their feelings toward the BDF are well founded? How do you think it should be handled?

One thing that is hard for me in engaging people that lash out on a forum is you really can't know for sure if they are just having fun or if they are about to snap off in some way. For me, I don't want someone to feel less than. I know what that's like. But I also know what it's like to not be assertive in your life and the kind of pain that brings. Kinda two different sides of the same coin.
