Until all is cleared up on the details and possible ensuing difficulties caused, it may be adviseable
to refrain from navigating to any websites targeted such as online news, television magazines and other related site types.

it's not that kind of an attack

it's a denial of service attack

if it's ongoing, you can't reach the site anyway.....

besides, Assange has told the hackers to lay off the US...that should work :rolleyes:

DDOS attacks is basically when a hacker spams a server or site or sometimes an ISP. They spam the site/server with requests so fast that the target drastically slows down. This is nothing new and had been going on s long time. ISPs, Microsoft and online gaming sites are common targets. There is no threat on the users end, just quite frustrating.
World of Warcraft is a frequent target, making the game slow or not function properly, kicking players off and in some cases preventing users from logging in.
