I applaud those who protest outside of abortion mills in order to discourage (in the immediate but not in the long-term) child-killing, but that isn't necessarily "political." How can one get involved in pro-life politics and legislation-influencing beyond simply sending checks to pro-life PACs and voting for pro-life candidates?

Find pro-life lobbyist and see if you can work for them.

National Right to Life is one.

That's not a laughing matter. Although burning a PP does sound funny, you shouldn't make jokes about the pro-life movement.

I for a short time before I got too heavily involved in the Prison Ministry, was Volunteering to help Crisis Pregnancy Hotline. It was Christian based counseling and referral service, manned 24/7. They appear to be either out of business, or more likely they changed their name. They provided Christian counseling during pregnancy and for those having deep emotional problems after an abortion.

You might also check ProLife.com for other agencies that need help.

Step 1: Make your petition known to the Lord.
Step 2: Talk with your pastor or church leaders.
Step 3: Do what Santuzza shared.

My cousins got into their politics the old fashioned way -- got a law degree and then worked on a national political campaign as a first job.

An old friend, (a nurse), did it more on a local level -- started a crisis counseling center.

And then there is lobbyist.

You're at a good age, if you want to get into it. If you want to make it a career, it's good to plan which one now.

Also, do they still protest outside clinics? I thought they were the one group not allowed to protest. A couple of decades ago they made a law that said prolifers couldn't be more than 500 yards from the clinic.

Most decent sized communities will have some sort of "crisis pregnancy center". Find yours and they'll be able to tell you how to get involved.

Personally I'm not big on the idea of large scale protests outside of PP (it's about as effective as protesting gay pride parades with "God hates fags" signs). What my local pro life organization does is typically just a couple of persons sitting quietly at the PP driveway with signs informing persons coming in that there are other options.

I think *Oncefallen* has the right idea. You are NOT going to legislate anything like this into the hearts of others. All that will do is decide whether or not tax money gets used to pay for abortions.
