One of my neighbors just informed me that she backed into my car and scraped it up. She was pretty upset and offered to pay but I told her it wasn't necessary and that I didn't even need to look at my car. She was delighted by my reaction.

When we truly walk with Jesus, His peace envelopes us, and when circumstances arise like the one just shared, we are able to rise above it and see clearly that it's all insignificant.

I did it mention Jesus by name, but I have a cross hanging on my rear view mirror and no doubt she sees it everyday. Hopefully God was glorified without a word spoken.

If the car still ran fine, then I would have done the same thing, yeah : p

Would be kinda worried if the car had problems due to the accident, though.

You are awesome, Utah. Kudos to the neighbor for being honest and 'fessing up. And props to you for being so nonchalant and Christ-like about it. :) Your post just garnered a rep. :)

IF the system lets me, otherwise I'll put you on my list of people I need to rep.

I was downtown the other night coming back from urgent care when these two guys who appeared to be teenagers were on the sidewalk and saw me...it wasn't even a second later when they approached my car cussing up a storm and started hitting my car....now I was given a shot and my judgement wasn't the greatest, but I started yelling and cussing at them and sped off....I know it's a little different than what you experienced, but the point is I don't think I would have handled that with style and grace like you did...I love my Charlie too much lol.

Good for you for handling it as you did and may the good Lord Bless you for it :)

It really is truly amazing when we rise above the enemy and don't give him the reaction he's gunning for. satan get's left behind, because we're walking in Jesus light, love and way instead.

Two things flashed in my mind. The first was from the name of your post. The second from your story.
1. When we were all kids and acting like bratty kids, Mom said something, (no one remembers what anymore) to my oldest brother, and he came back with the standard bratty-kid reaction. "I don't care."

This infuriated Mom, who shouted, "I don't care if you care. You better care."

Three kids all under 12, but old enough to understand the oldest stepped way past the line, looked at Mom at once... and then we all burst out laughing. It truly ruined Mom's moment, but she laughed with us. lol

2. Our car is a 1995 Saturn and we live in Philly, so there isn't a spot anywhere, (including the roof, hood, and trunk) that doesn't have multiple scratches, scrapes, dents or dinks. Some even give evidence on what hit it or what we scrapped against. (I hate the warning-yellow in one corner, but that's what happens when you don't see a warning post at a diner.) The last two people who came to us to tell they dinked, got a weird reaction.

I burst out laughing and asked them if they could even find their damage around all the other colorful scraps on it. (One did, but I honestly couldn't tell the difference. lol)

I enjoy making someone's day when they're scared to do the right thing, but find out it isn't scary at all sometimes. Don't you? :D

So it turns out my nice little neighbor who's the essence of integrity isn't so nice at all. After she scraped up against my car she attempted to drive away but stopped when she saw another neighbor standing there and witnessed her actions. Suddenly she had "integrity". I still don't care about the damage to my car, what I hate is the damage of humanity.

Worldly things can indeed damage people. They treat things better than people. I know someone who said to the guy at valet parking that he better handle her car well because it's new or else...

Her car was a lexus. The valet guy parked her car next to a ferrari. Lol!

Well, if didn't care about the damage to your car then what difference would it make if they did drive off without notifying you since you didn't care to begin with.

Maybe your nice little neighbor was late to work or something and was going to tell you when they returned yet seeing the neighbor stopped so they weren't accused of something they weren't intending of doing.
