I used the orange peels w. cinnamon last year for awesome fragrance.

Last year, we had lemons and oranges, for hubby to cook with. He got sick, and wasn't going to be home for a while, and I have no idea what to do with citrus fruit, but I heard they're good to hang up outside for songbirds. Nothing to hang them on. (Nothing that high in my garden), so I poked them onto my chain link fence.
I live in the city. We have one songbird. He's a robin who lives on the other side of the house. I forgot all about them, until gardening season. ThenI couldn't figure out what those grayish green, tiny fuzzy things were in my soil. Half a year old lemon or orange looks disgusting. Can't imagine what a year old one looks like. lol
I have poked cloves into an orange and then set it nearby. That's a christmassy smell too, and it will last a month.
(Why do I want cranberry sauce now?)
BTW, love the orange snail.
